@Lepond in 21. CENTURY cant have any country unelecte leaders. But monarch isnt only a DECORATIONS. Monarch represents all of state And practicaly monarch is the state. People loves him becouse monarch is neutral And in case of hard situation thanks to this popularity He is strong moral booster that are people loyal to. Not to pm ministr not politician but to the monarch.

Without it today, Human Rights, Certain Freedoms, etc. would not be around these days, The French Revolution Contributed a lot to the Freedoms of People, and if you are from America then I think we were being enslaved by Europeans.

@@Mauve2 les révolutionnaires ont commencé par faire une monarchie constitutionnelle comme la Grande-Bretagne. Comme Elizabeth II aujourd’hui, Louis XVI était un gardien de la constitution et le seul moment où il pouvait voter contre une loi, c’est quand elle ne respecte pas la constitution. Le problème, c’est qu’il votait toujours contre. Ils l’ont alors traité de traître et l’ont exécuté.

i agree people make mistake. But i said he didn't deserve it. Also did the Revolution think killing him and his family will solve French problem?. He literally by that time just a figurehead even if he have the power the people will just again rebell and revolt. So was the point of killing him when he already be stripped of power and title. Like Wilhelm II.

Monarchy is much better than communism and anarchy. Vive le roi. His family definitely didn't deserve to die. He could have been overthrown but he should have been allowed to escape and leave France if he wanted to.
