As a Parisian spending 3 months in California, I once rented a car and did this trick in dowtown Palo Alto. Only to come back 30 minutes later with the owner of the car in front of mine and a police officer, both mystified and horrified as to how a car had been able to fit in such kind of spot. I was close to get a ticket, until they realized I was French, and I showed them how to get in and out of a tight parking spot without touching the cars in front and behind me. This was before in the 90's, before we had rear cameras.

But key word is that the video title is _French_ parking and not _Parisian_ parking. In Paris people leave their cars in neutral so people can push the cars out of the way when parking on the street. They just reverse until they hear a loud sound and they’re parked. Pull this stunt in any other part of France and people will get really angry.

If someone need a decoration instead of a bumper he should stay away from cities or crowded places Its just a tool for transportation and a small and little scratch at bumpers doesnt make any real difference for its use. This video is 10 years old lol. Wonder how much more insane it is now. But I bet it's just his eye being able to judge the distance to millimeter...or that's probably part of it. Probably that it's Paris and no available reasonable parking so he just forced it in. Kimdof like Stallone on cobra. Would've been great someone ripping someone's shirt and telling them to go clean themselves up. It is Paris after all

@BL Dontmatter ofc they'll all have their parking brake engaged. With clutch you lower the torque transmitted to the wheels so when u touch another car it's like a human hand pressing on the body of the car, you can't do that with an automatic cause even if u gently press the gas pedal lots of torque are put onto the wheels which will damage the car paint. Plus clutch pedals are very long and you can be very precise by using both pedals at the same time.

That way they could be gently pushed by the cars entering or exiting the parking spot. The parked cars could not go far because there was always a car parked close either in front or rear.
