"Nobody actually wants to smell like french fries", after working at Jack in the Box for years, that's all I ever smelled like, I didn't like the persistent fried scent but my hubby loved how I smelled every day after work; he would take a deep whiff of my hair me after kissing me and say "Mmmm. . . you smell like french fries!" I love your creativity and enthusiasm and hope you have an awesome birthday!

Did ya know adding baking soda to boiling water just before adding your cut potatoe french fries helps them come out of the oven nice n crispy perfect??! I make allllll kinds of homemade french fries..this video is making me sooooo very hungry!🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟

R Publicover yep just put your french fries in boiling pot with baking soda for 3-5 min before draining them and baking them...i wont do them any other way..drizzle olive oil garlic n parmesean cheese or cracked black pepper n sea salt!

Katie you are 100% the reason I started soaping! You and your beautiful attitude toward expanding the community make it so much less scary to jump in! 🙈😍

First off! I just love your positivity and eagerness to share your experience and knowledge with those of us that make soap, and even those who don't! I'm not a super new soaper, but I have "switched" (I was all over the place with my recipes, lol) to yours and I absolutely LOVE it!!! You are so spot on about needing to soap at room temp or cooler. Everything just works swimmingly with your recipe! I have found a tip about using a floral fragrance with your recipe though! I found it in a comment on a misbehaving fragrance oil on WSP recently (I can't remember the fragrance dang it) but someone suggested using an oz or two of extra oil (depending on your batch size) and blending the fragrance oil with that extra oil before adding it to the main (or individually colored) batch. It worked absolutely wonderfully all the times that I've used finicky florals. Basically, any fragrance that accelerates would benefit from using this tip! Again, thank you for all that you do! And have a most wonderful birthday!

i sure did - cut it today and its awesome - to be so happy from a cake of soap is silly but its so gosh darn cute - my only remaining problem is those glycerin rivers - soaped at a lower temp this time but they are there in the centre 3 slices and they are quite fine this time - may try even lower on the next soap - i use water based TD and have read that oil based TD doesnt do this - is that true????

I make soap, and I use your recipe! Just put lye in an ice bath for 1/2 hour and it’s nice and cool. Your recipe is amazing! No soda ash, no acceleration. It works great.

Resizing recipes is exactly why I've been working with percents rather than ounces. Makes resizing a lot easier. My first loaf is just gonna be unscented, no colorant, added colloidal oatmeal and candelilla wax so it'll harden a bit faster. I am gonna try using some homemade hemp milk (aka literally just hemp and water blended together) in either that one or my second loaf. I will definitely tag you when I finally am able to make it! Still working on getting all my equipment and cleaning up my room so I can set up my soaping station, but I can NOT wait to get started soaping. ^.^ you and all the other KZread soapers have made me extremely excited about soap, heehee.

Hey Katie! A few weeks ago, I watched safiya nygards video about soap making. It then started recommending me your videos. I watched the gingerbread man soap video, and I was hooked! Really good advice in this video. I just make soap for fun and gifts and was inspired by your videos. Learned a lot through trial and error in a 2 lb. soap mold. Just divided your recipe in half and then divided it in half again. Found another recipe that has the oils you use but a perfect 20 oz that fits just right in the small mold but in different oil ratios from a book but is supposed to be at 110 degrees that works well too but I was always getting the glycerin rivers until I found out about the water discount. Anyway, I bought a few of your soaps to compare yours to mine and although I love mine, yours are very professional and impressive. Thanks for sharing. God bless you and your lovely family.
