Please have a whole series on French interiors, fashion, and cuisine. This is my favorite European style. So beautiful.

*Rustic Cottage Vibes* . I'm not a gilded girlie or one that fancies anything overly ornate. I do love stone, rustic beams and the more humble utilitarian side of French County.
We have had an Ethan Allen Armoire for 40 years. It is Scandinavian style and worked in 18 homes. 🥴🥰

Oh my. I thought I had moved a lot in 45 yrs 20 times with 2 husbands (separately of course 😂)
I’ve always loved French country style and I’m so glad it’s coming back. Would love to see a video on French country kitchens which is something I’m striving for in 2024. Maybe with a haul of practical items (Home Goods, Amazon) that can give us the look on a budget? Thanks!
I’m also obsessed with the black and white marble floors! Love! I love to add french country into my modern decor. When I first started watching your channel, during lockdown, you were very into the French country style and I watched the French episode a million times. Lol. It was my introduction to you.

Thank you for hanging out with us for so long. You’re going to see more of this as we look to bring some of this into our own home this year.
Yes! Definitely want to see more of the french country style on your channels. I love blending the french country with English country. I am more of a fan of the "humble" french country, that which historically the "country folks" could afford, using wood materials such as walnut, rush seating, etc, which adds so much charm to a home. Love, love, love armoires! Looking forward to more!
I think a lot of your style reminds me of French Country style in a more sophisticated way. Please talk about how to combine older French style with newer items we can buy for the kitchen and living room. So, so happy because, I have always loved this style. LET THE NEW CLASSES ON FRENCH COUNTRY STYLE BEGIN 🎉🎉🎉
French country is just gorgeous and so easy to mix with other styles. Love, love, love that this style is returning, though I think it was never fully out.
Highly suggest, watching the KZread channel called “our French château”. Done very well and a beautiful restoration project

Thanks so much. I’ve actually been watching it over the last few weeks and truly enjoying it.
My home here in Missouri is definitely French Provincial. I feel that this style is timeless. Love it! Baskets, pottery, soft earthy color palette. Feels so comforting yet elevated.

My favorite. When downsizing I gave all mine away BIG MISTAKE I now wished I had it all back again. Can’t rebuy🥲 I would love to see your home.
And you know...Local Antique & Vintage Shops often have a wealth of the items you mentioned from Etsy (& actually a lot of Etsy suppliers have brick & mortars too!). Several of the periods you mentioned, and as I believe you also said, can be incorporated together very well. It's just classic...all of it.
I have loved French country from the moment I first saw it years ago! The black & ivory tile, the amoires, fireplaces, crown molding, farm tables in that warm, rich wood, mirrors; the craftsmanship is amazing. It would be awesome if you did a series on it. BTW, great job on the history of styles!
I think the black and white work in any design style. It’s timeless and gorgeous. If I had a grand entry, it would happen. 🥰
I LOVE my aged cream colored armoire in my closet! I have hanging clothes and shoe shelves on each side of the closet. The focus on the back wall looking straight into the closet is a Pottery Barn armoire with mirrored doors. It stores sheets, purses, scarves, garment brushes, belts, and other accessories perfectly and it makes the closet look so uncluttered with the doors being shut, and also the mirrors add to the lightness of a closet. I think I will have it forever!

It sounds lovely! I was thinking of doing the same to the back of our closet in the house we're soon moving into!
We would love to see more! This is what I am trying to do in my home. French country with some modern pieces. A mix of the old and the new. The natural stone is gorgeous.
I am enjoying your more conversational style of speaking. Makes watching far more enjoyable.
Very interesting!! I do love the black and white floors, just beautiful.
French country style speaks to my soul. Timeless and gorgeous!

Black and white/ivory checkerboard floors, charming, rustic kitchens, French furniture, particularly armoires, ALL of it makes my heart sing. Please do more content on this topic. Also, you would love the kitchen at LaLande, Stephanie’s home in The Chateau Diaries. The beauty of interior design is the unlimited scope for human creativity. Every style speaks to the human experience. Thanks for discussing the beauty of French style.
This is the content I need! I am so obsessed with Guilded and English Country decor. Please do more of these!

You’re not the only one!!!!! I think out of the fortress time period I most want is the gargoyle. I really love them, and I would love to go all over France studying them. Please do any longer videos on French Country that you wish to make. I so agree with you about armoires. I’ve never owned one, but I would really love to have one. My mother had two or three beautiful ones that she bought at estate sales when she was working. When my dad died and she sold the house, the buyers wanted to buy all the furniture, artwork, decorative items, etc., and it made the best sense for her to sell the pieces. I also lived on the other side of the country, too. Thanks for sharing this topic-it is probably my favorite!
LOVEEE this kind of video where specific elements that contribute to a style are picked out and explained! I find it so useful. It'd be amazing to see a video on... almost French "bistro" style? But in the home! Like La Mercerie in NYC etc. Or how French influences have occurred in more modern residential settings, especially if you don't have double height spaces to play with hahaha
Dantier and Balogh design Studio explain each French Country style very well. The French don't consider Chateau as French Country Style as it was for the nobels and it was too oppulent.

Agree. This is a love letter to all things French .. Which I'm here for .. but French country is provencale prints and not opulence. It's refined mixed with rustic Charles Faudree books are a great resource. I was lucky enough to know him and work for Pierre Deux. Toile, layered prints, baskets, vide poche, armoires, stone and iron are def more fc!

I would agree with this. A lot of the pictures in this video were from chateaux or manoirs, from aristocratic and bourgeois homes, not what French people would consider French country.

Right, and how these mix in with modern rustic etc.. is something new. A touch of opulence rather than gilding the lily, with a juxtaposition of natural elements is interesting and exciting to see.
Merci beaucoup!!! We are decorating in the French style - ivory/black harlequin floor in the kitchen, tapistries, gilded mirror over the fireplace, armoire... Please when you visit France, go to Vaux le Vicomte. (There was one picture of the kitchen there in this video). There would be no Versailles were it not for Vaux le Vicomte. Fascinating history and absolutely perfect architecture and landscaping. More French style videos s'il vous plait!
I love the more humble raw mixed with a little elegant, earth tones. I do like the black & white floor in a kitchen or bath, lg. pottery, baskets, crystal chandelier, lg. stone fireplace, rustic beams, furniture in kitchen & dining, Thanks Valentina, lovin your videos.
A style where elegance meets rustic charm! 🌿🏡 Love it.
Absolutely LOVE black and ivory marble floors and herringbone wood floors as well!

Oh yes! Herringbone floors! Beautiful!
YESSS! I am planning a trip to Paris this year, and was hoping to get out to Aix en Provence. Trying to avoid the time period of the Olympics so either Spring or Fall. But I absolutely love the Neo-Classical era. My first ever apartment was when I was living in NYC, in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan. It was an L shaped unit on the 5th floor of a walk-up pre-war bldg with tall ceilings, crown molding, parquet floors and yes, Valentina, the beautiful black and white tiles. And lucky me, part of my daily runs was going up to the Cloisters, where they feature a lot of pieces which include these various eras of European architecture. Thank you for this lesson, and maybe I will see you and Jack in France later this year! 💕🥰
You originally had more French style elements in your home. Does this mean we might see the beautiful black bust of a lady on your fireplace again? I always loved seeing that piece!
I’ve always wanted black and ivory floors but felt they would be so out of place in Suburbia. More French Country kitchens and floors please!

It’s all about integrating into the design so it feels more natural and organic.
I love the classic style
I love French Country very romantic and light with, lots of roses!! 🥰👵🏽
I love chairish and 1st dibs and I’ve bought from both but the inflated prices and shipping fees are ridiculous. I don’t mind investing in pieces but i do mind flagrant greed. I have to desperately want something from those websites before I’ll buy because the value isn’t there.

The French 🇫🇷 in me is genuinely happy for this video. I love them all but obviously this one feels extra special 🥰
Yes absolutely more videos about European kitchen designs--French, English, Italian!
I’m nearly 50yrs married , I’ve loved black and white. Our first ceiling was B&W polystyrene tiles which are not allowed now lol. My curtains were B&W geometric design from end of material my father got from work, ps very expensive company back in the day. Today I’m back to B&W flooring in kitchen Harlequin, but I’m now taking it a bit further I’ve just purchased harlequin tiles from Ikea for my new green house . Love your videos , watching from south Ayrshire Scotland. Anne
Hi Valentina! Thoroughly enjoyed this video and would love to see more on the topic of French Country! We're moving house this week and I can't wait to get my teeth into this one! I've been a big fan of this style since about 2000 and France is my favorite travel destination. Everything you said about it is true!!
I love French Country & like you, adore those black and white/cream floors! Your video was a feast for the eyes! ❤

I love the fireplaces, so many photos from my trip to France are of fireplaces! And kitchens! And I’m getting ready to put black and white marble tiles in our powder room. And anytime you want to do a video about French anything, do it. Love love love it
Appreciate the historical & VARIED focus from more "Hi-End" to more "Low-Brow" ...would be fun to explore in other styles too! Refreshing!
I loved coming to class with you! Thank you! And the photos that accompany your narrative - fabulous!
I love the Neo classic era the best ! Love the black and white floor as well and the chandeliers!
Love this video and how you subdivided it by era! We live in a French inspired house and have a carved limestone fireplace that was covered by glass and brass front at some point and we were just tickled to find it! You can also check architectural salvage places for fireplaces for sure. I also love that tile floor and want it so bad in the sunroom. One day… would love to see a French kitchen video and ways to incorporate into an existing kitchen. If you’re going to Versailles you should make sure to spend time in the potager du roi there and then might as well go to Villandry for their beautiful potager too!
The olive jars are great, thanks, I didn't know what they were. And a video about humble French kitchens is also a great idea. Thank You! I really wish we could work in France, I'm half French, they both left in an 1870 war in the North with France. I love this style.
My favorite style. You nailed! Finally a style I identify myself with
I have a beautiful tapestry, made in Italy, hanging above my bed, with the backdrop being limousine leather on that wall and the ceiling! Looks so good! The other 3 walls being a creamy white!
I would love to see a complete series on French indoor and outdoor design

I also love the black and white marble flooring! I’ve dreamt of putting this into my entryway and kitchen. ❤
I will say that it is 100% worth the extra money on REAL crystal for your chandelier, it will look great and you have to clean it less often, which is also great. I moved into a home that has several acrylic chandeliers and I have to wash them constantly but they still look dusty. I picked up a gorgeous used real crystal chandelier at a local antique shop (paid ~$270) and it it resists dust settling on it and needs cleaned far less often and looks SO BEAUTIFUL. Has tons of sparkle and worth every penny. I'm slowly changing out the rest of the lighting, but hard to find ones I love.
Perfect timing! About to makeover my bedroom retreat to French country style! Thx u Valentina!
Excellent video, Valentina! More, more, please! ❤
YES. Black and white floors
If you live near an art college you can get wonderful paintings very reasonably from both students and faculty.
I love the French country kitchens and the most rustic styles. I've always been attracted to the old farmhouse and cottage homes of stone and plaster. I do love the black and white flooring as well. I like to mix the rustic and simple with rich jewel colors. And tapestries, love love love!
Your «Joie de vivre» is so wonderful and contagious. I am always charmed by your post. Au revoir! 🌄
I absolutely love the black and white or ivory look. Getti g ready to do my bath with that look.

Thanks Valentina. I LOVE France! The elegance, the colour palette, the style, everything. I fell in love with the country in a way I didn’t know was possible. And Monet’s garden, well. I really think it’s sacred ground. I would love more videos please, especially about the classic era. To journey with you and your family to France during your summer, our winter in Australia, would be a treat. Thanks for the virtual invitation!
Really enjoyed watching this French Country style. Such eras that have dominated our designs. While watching this, I thought I would need to watch the series Versailles again. Thank you for sharing with us. *Debbie*
Rustic elegance! ❤ I’m drawn to this all the time
Thank you Valentina! Really enjoyed this video and its walk through history. Love tapestries placed in any style home, yes even modern, as I like to use different styles to create surprise, comfort, and beauty where you would least expect them.
Love this channel! I do want to point out that the first picture you showed us of the "humble" kitchen, I'm looking saying, yes it is and then I look at the chandelier hanging in the back and I'm awe struck at it's magnificent beauty. That's what I like about the French country look. You can be surrounded by simplicity and then "wham!" a beautiful, gorgeous chandelier. Thank you for addressing this style. So many people think you have either ornate or simple, which definitely isn't the case. Thank you for all you do.
Please do more! I am obsessed! I’ve been waiting for you to make this video! I would love to see a video of you making mood boards of each of the French periods with links to Amazon or other places
I've always been a fan of French interior styles and, lucky me, I have a house where I can use it. Looking for more videos on this
This was so beautiful!
Yes, I love the B&W floors as much as you do! Thanks for all your great videos.
French Country Farmhouse forever!!!❤
My style is French country with coastal colors... my husband has called my style French Riviera :) I'm looking forward to more French videos!
I have loved your journey over the past 4-5yrs that I’ve been subscribed. I’ve just put up some styling that became French country but I put a white marble like sphere with it to give it a modern feel. It made the vignette. I also created an antique photo of the mini Arc de Triomphe and the pyramids outside the Louvre. It’s subtle and not the usual type of Paris photo. Will be sussing out some more modern pieces as my style evolves. Loving the black and white theme of my home as it’s coming together. Thank you! ❤
More French country, please and thank you
Love this video Valentina. It’s like a Master Class!
So enjoyed your content today. One of your best. More please.
Stupendous video, loved learning about the different eras ❤
Just found your videos. Im excited!!
Nice breakdown! I like the Neoclassical style. 😊
Loved this
I enjoyed the video. You gave us a lot of information. I love the French style.
Not fond of this style. Although I do appreciate the craftsmanship. But it's all way too much for me. I prefer the more simplistic rustic country feel.
Love the content of video, also how you could incorporate pieces of different era into your current style.
I'm going to Paris in March and I'm beyond excited to see all the architecture. Going to Versailles as well. Definitely going to Paris Flea markets. Ahhhhhhghhhhhhghhh so excited!!!!!!
I am also obsessed with the black & ivory floors! You’ve also insulted me to refresh our fire place…she’s looking a little dated. Thank you for all your videos…would love to see and learn more about this in particular.
I've been trying to figure out for so long!!!!!! I love french country haha but with less of the "country" now I know it's less of the cottage style. I've sooooo been wanting this. More of these please.
This was so interesting to hear your ideas and opinions! I would love some similar videos about other countries? maybe Italy? or Greece? 😍
As you can see I’ve been to Paris. Loved the black and white tile. Love the chandeliers. I have three -one is a Schonbek crystal I got as an anniversary gift. Thanks for this video !
What an amazing video! I loved your overview of the style and 'tips to steal'. Perhaps you could compare the French country style with the similar time periods in English country style?

You’ve read my mind. I’m about to move into a new apartment & have been contemplating what style I want to decorate. French country/modern/European cottage has been a reoccurring theme as I search for inspiration and searches for French Country is how I found your channel just before the pandemic. 😇Would love to see suggestions for furniture & decor (lamps) would fit these. And I LOVE the black and whole tile floors too. ❤❤
Would love to see more about this style!
All the things French country PLEASE and thank you!! Oh V!! I dream of black and white marble floors!!! ❤
I got a diamond patterned rug for my living room to bring that pattern in… love it!
I am so glad that you are so inspired by french styles. My favorites are the roman abbeys and the architecture of the 2nd half of the 18h century. I advise you to visit Vaulx-le-Vicomte (the castle that inspired Versailles). Their immersive visit is genius. We have many brocantes over here and my favorite is la Foire de Chatou (twice a year). ❤ from France
Please! Please give us more!! Also would be interested in Italian Country style
