Just unplug the connector and jump the 2 outer pins with a paperclip to get you going then get that switch replaced asap cause the truck will now start in gear...

Good video... Had truck that was doing that and tried to jump the starter with the key on and it would crank over but wouldn't start. Wondering if there's a security thing to prevent from staring engine that way. I know it works with the old Columbia's with a Detroit.

I love your videos! You have walked me through a few headaches with your videos and I'd like to thank you! I have found that it is much easier to change the clutch switch by removing the clutch pedal from the engine compartment (4 bolts) instead of working upside down under the dash.

Do you suggest that I have Starter Problem??? But if I hit the Starter couple times with a small Hammer the Truck Star.... That is a good idea. Well, you can tell when you cruise is not working properly or ENGINE not starting.

Good vido on this one. I have a question, I replaclien clutch senser and it still does not start, I have check the batteries and fuse also the connector on the fire wall, can you give me what else I can look at so to start the truck. I just stopped and it did not turn over, does not make a sound when I try. I have to jump the truck by unhooking the clutch censer and by pass with a paper clip. Any help i would be thankful for.

that switch he shows you is a double switch. the upper switch for the jake and cruise. the lower switch is for the starter safety. so if you have these problems that clutch switch is a very common problem. and it is a beotch to get to. I remove the ignition switch and with a long 1/4" drive extension and a ball end allen socket you can get right on it. go right thru the dash where the ignition switch was removed. yo! btw, just because the switch clicks that is not a test for a good switch. if the resistance between the contacts goes out of range the computer will not acknowledge the switch. kapeesh!!

I changed the clutch switch and a first day I replace it was working fine I turn it off and on like 5 times and no issue . But the next way the truck didn't want to turn on and played a little with the ignition switch and turn on and after that I haven't got it to turn over anymore I been bypassing on the starter. What could be the issue or problem I'm having?? Thanks in advance.

It's better just to bypass the switch. I had this issue many years ago & I bypassed it. I dont have to press the clutch to start my truck. You should make a video on how to do that.

Hello Francisco, thank you for the video. However we have a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia automatic. We have replaced the starter and the ignition switch and still doesn't start up in the mornings. However the truck will start up later on around 10am. Any idea what could be causing this? Does the same as your video just my truck is automatic. Please help. 🙏

I just did an oil change and after driving the 4000miles. Oil dipstick reads above max 1inch. Im worried i have fuel or coolant mixing with my oil, can you please help me find out how to check if i have fuel or coolant mixing with my oil ? My coolant level is at max I did a smell test with the dipstick to my nose and it seems like its normal oil smell PLEASE HELP

The cascadia have a sam cabin that controls all the components of the cabin, it is possible that it is not working properly.

Got a 2013 Freightliner M2 Automatic....that does the same thing at times. It powers up the cluster just fine, but when I turn key, it says nothing. It does not do it all the time, but every now and then it does, but I try playing with the switch a little and it would crank. Do you think its the ignition switch, starter, etc. I have already replaced the ignition relay. Help.

Question.. once in 100 starts foot on the clutch, then key turn I get nothing...then I reset key turn again truck start right up... my starter is good is that a sign I could be getting a bad clutch switch as well?

What is the clutch pressure rate? Are you using a manual adjustment clutch or automatic adjustment clutch?

I have a 2013 Freightliner M2 box truck that does the exact same thing, but I have an automatic. Is there a clutch located somewhere that I can replace or is it differ for an automatic. It does the same setup as your truck, but when turning the key it is dead, not all the time but every now and then it does that. Help?

That doesn't have a clutch. Sometimes the starter causes that problem too.

First check if there is power to the starter with you put the key in the starting position

No such part called a clutch switch. The part you changed is a clutch position sensor.

I replaced the switch but it still doesn't turn over. It's like I never even replaced the switch. Is there any solution? Plenty of power at the starter it just won't engage the starter

Check if when you put the ignition key in starting position you have power in the starter solenoid.

It is possible that the starter solenoid is bad. Apply power to the starter solenoid on the Actual starter to see what it does.

Check if you have ground on the small solenoid. If you jump the big solenoid and it starts the starter will need to be replaced.

I tried bypassing clutch switch. That wasn't it. Then I tried jumping the starter solenoid. It clicks, but no cranking. Batteries are good. I can't pull start it cause air tanks low. WTF am I going to do. 2010 Cascadia

Replace the starter. Jump the solenoid many times meanwhile you are hitting it with a small hammer.
