I took prefab walls to Post Falls Idaho for 6200, got a shit load for 2200 to Vegas, deadheaded 89 miles to Kingman for pipe, paid 4300 to Indiana. 12,700 gross in 8 days, no truck payment, no trailer payment, fuel is the bigger issue than freight rates.

I was watching your steering wheel as you were driving and noticed that it is pretty steady and you don’t have to do a lot of back and forth or sawing like I’m experiencing in the current truck I’m driving. But all my steering components have been replaced including the axle. And just can’t figure it out. But you have come a long way with your truck and would hate to see you throw in the towel . You should have just got a short load out and a short low back and then pick those up for that Friday and you still could have made some money instead of just sitting for those 3 days

in any market you cant really make money giving up the percentage it cost to lease on 24% 36% of every thing you do . if you can run legal and balance a check book go get your own trailer and get your own numbers and make your own money. that way if you want to work you can . you can do anything that you actually have the will to do. where there is a will there is a way. where there is no will there is no way. you can because you already are.

I swap between 3 trailers here in southern Canada locally , low boy, dry van, and step deck, rate is 155 hr with a 2 hr minimum. Alot of the times the loads take less than the 2 hr minimum which really increases the profit. I'm just a company driver doing this but the numbers don't look bad

Would be interesting that giant classic in those construction sites Because they usually really tight bumpy impossible to navigate. Maybe use FLD has shorter wheel base etc. Landoll trailers are great too but not sure price.

I will give you a few agents to talk to. Rates are down but there some good rates out there. I have 4 agents i work with all the time and a handfull that are back ups. I will burn up the agents list to find freight also.

got my job back on a drilling rig. 137k 14/14 full benefits .. also had a 2000 classic 300 stretch pulling a flat bed in the south west .. even with all equipment paid for, their is no freight that's worth it. my only good customer pays 3.50 a mile hauling 60" rebar out to california but the place burned down so it was going to be shut down for months .. i wasn't going to work for 2.00 a mile.

😂 I was thinking the same thing. He doesn't run anywhere long, you have to chase the freight in this market, eat shit once a week to move to a better area. My job we lost all the local oil hauling work we had for a long time. New carrier from out of town and have foreigners as drivers. They bid it at such a low rate wasnt worth doing for my owner op/me. Cool hat and light by the gear shifter! Like looking out the mirror, seeing ur load. Interesting about the steep 9% grade hill.. Sucks u had to sit for 3 days away from home! Nice view of Virginia.

Here in Australia it’s kinda the same situation. A few trucking companies went out of business. On of Australia’s biggest refrigeration truck company went bankrupt earlier this year.

Actually their pension was through the teamsters so they still have that.

The problem for new authority is getting thru the first 6 months as most brokers won't let you haul unless u have 6 months authority even if you have 10 yrs experience. Its a bad move to do right now with the freight market Beign this bad these days, there's barely any loads to move and you have even less the first 6 months for the reason I explained and with the high cost of operating your authority, it's a huge risk right now with the very low freight volume if you have full insurance payments considering commercial insurance is especially expensive the first 2 years of having your authority but it is the best choice, just nkt right now imo

He can !!! He can set up his authority and let it sit but it will be the wrong time of the year for that , why ? Because it is going in the shopping season and you have Halloween Thanksgiving Christmas and New Year’s and after that you have the Tax Season for Tax SHOPPING 🛍️ and you know that means everyone is spending up that refund money on any and everything NOW IS THE BEST TIME !!!!!! If you want to make money here's a quick and simple easy way it's called don't load the trailer for one thing going to want to play make several Parcels pickups along the way you make more money loading parcels then with a full trailer you keep your trailer loaded all the time and you dop daylle that is the trick you making money used to be for trainers paid more not anymore so you going to partial this morning Pennsylvania that paid $2,000 you got room enough room to put three more Parcels off unless you put on their face 800 and it's going the same direction and you find another one that pays 2,000 and it's going in the same direction 4,800 Dallas for just three things now let's say you have room to fit 4th or a 5th and they pay 800 and pest and they're all either going the same direction or going the next Direction you want to go

Landstar board was much better. I’ve been sitting for 2 weeks waiting on a load. All the agents here at Bennett have the trucks they like working with. They are going to get the good loads. The trash loads is what’s left for the newer guys.

In the Uk 🇬🇧 we have a saying. If your starving you will eat shit! No shame on parking the truck and driving for someone mate. Anyone can be a busy fool. It’s about putting food on the table for your family and if you drive someone else’s truck to a hive that so what! These are shit times and it’s equally as bad here and in Europe mate.
