The fact of the matter is brother it don't matter where u go it's all tough right now I'm with landstar been here 7yrs and it's ups and downs running on dedicated lanes. Even when rates where crazy I stayed on lanes because I knew this would happen it always does. My advice is go to a company build relationships and when u find something decent stick with it. It gives u stability. I mean it's not crazy money but it's consistent. Good luck brother

I guarantee there’s no OO out here making money that’s able to stack away money for a blown engine because the profit margin just isn’t there! Be smart and just get you a local company job home daily. If we all came together as drivers and keep these trucks parked for a month until they come off that money and pay us for our time and value then we’ll be winning. But that’s all wishful thinking. Bro as much as I love long nose Pete’s and non aero trucks there’s a reason why they’re more common. Fuel is everything. Cheap freight for you might not be for someone else and so on. Having low overhead and getting the best fuel Milage possible makes a hell of a difference. Slowing down will make a huge difference too. A lot of people don’t want to hear it but it’s true. I hope for the best and love your videos and hope to come to bennett at some point

I disagree with you brother. The MPG really come from rear end and transmission setup as well as which motor. The difference isn’t as big as promoted. I get 7-7.5 mpg in a long nose classic. The myth comes from Pete’s that typically have CAT in them, which everyone knows is a gas guzzler.

Most of my heavy loads I get which still get around 7.5 is about 46k and it’s just to get me to another piece of equipment. But that’s one thing about paccar. I applied to warren for the step deck division but the 35% cut they take was too much for me to accept with the way rates ar,not to mention that i couldn't dispatch myself which mean they wouldnt care if load picks up 300 miles away if a load pays good from shipper to receiver which dhd miles would make it worthless,it wouldn't matter if their customer rates were very good but its rough everywhere even with customer freight. Brokers ARE NOT killing the industry. There's numerous reasons why the industry is in the toilet and first and foremost is immigrants. Eastern European, Asian and Indian drivers have flooded the industry, there is an over capacity of 700k trucks. Extremely low consumer spending since the Covid panic ended, massive inflation, increased energy costs, increased production costs, and then you can blame brokers last. Damn, so much ignorance in the industry, maybe if an IQ test was mandatory, the industry would improve. How can anyone be this ignorant in 2023 with instant knowledge in the palm of your hands?

It’s hard to watch this channel. Dude complains about everything. Rates have settle, deal with it. People came into trucking when brokers were giving out stupid money. Most people who got into trucking at that time. Think rates were like that all the time. It’s boom or bust. If you don’t save any money during the peak of freight. You are going to fail. Most companies are running off there reserve money. People don’t plan for the bust.

Damn the lower load rates, interest rates at their peak will start cutting relatively soon. Economy will pick up and loads should too. Fully confident in ur backup plan. Im making less money hauling butane gas after losing the oil work to an extreme low rate. Were all getting through this lower cycle together, stay strong.
