For most fruit, the freeze dryer is awesome. I especially like the FD for melons to be used in smoothies. For veggies, the only luck I've had is with minced garlic and ginger, and shredded carrots and onions for making homemade egg rolls. Broccoli might work out in the freeze dryer because like you said, it's used in dishes like casseroles where you cook it anyway, so texture isn't super important. I may give it a try.

1.19 Kilograms or 1190 Grams, if you pull the skin off by grabbing edge w/little knife (starting from bottom to top) it comes off cleaner.
It's still winter up here Pete, first snow back in November smashed our hoop house, lots of work for us this spring

We had 6 inches a couple years ago and luckily most of the snow came off our greenhouse.
Cut up the soft upper sections of your broccoli and freeze dry it. Make into powder.
I don't have a green house. I tried two years to grow broccoli, and they got consumed by worms that camouflaged perfectly with the plant. There was no defeating them. By growing them in the greenhouse, do you still have a worm problem?

I don't get many worms in the greenhouse. If you see small moths flying around, they are the egg layers for those worms.
If the veggies are blanched first will they hold up better when reconstituting?
Do you freeze dry the leaves to put in smoothies? Great video my friend God bless you and your family🙏♥️🙏
