Freeze Dried Mac And Cheese Problem Solved Ep317

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I am so excited to share this video. It is a problem I have been trying to solve for a very long time. If you want to rehydrate macaroni with just hot water in under 5 minutes then we all have been getting chewy mac. The process I demonstrate in this video results in the perfect Al Dente noodle! Problem solved!

    Love the fact that you take the time to problem solve freeze drying! I had a problem freeze drying raw chicken breasts, some didn’t rehydrate well and the ones that did, when I cooked them they were tough and dry. Any suggestions? Can you over freeze dry? Thanks for any help. Had a problem with eggs, but you solved that for me! Thank You!!

    This looks amazing! I keep trying to win a freeze dryer and praying that I will get 1. I grow a garden and have so much to put in a freeze dryer. I try to dehydrate as much as I can either outside or in the oven. I have learned how to can this year, I should have known before 53 years but I really wasn't raised around people that did, so I watched on KZread 1000's of videos and now I can. When I can afford jars that is. I'm disabled but can't get disability. I have had a stroke, open heart surgery, an ulcer that completely blocked food from going to my stomach and at 5' 8" and 50 yrs old I was losing weight until I was almost 100 lbs. They finally figured out what it was and blew open my stomach and then tell me that I need a pacemaker. I was like are you serious, they were..with all this my bills are out of this world so I grow food for now and try to keep as much as possible and I just keep praying that a freeze dryer will drop in my lap 😅 as I will never be able to afford 1. But when it happens and I know it will 1 day, this Mac and cheese is going to be the 1st thing I make!! I love Mac and cheese so much and this recipe looks amazing!! Thank you sir for all the testing you do to bring us these videos!!

  • @JohnInBibs

    @JohnInBibs

    10 ай бұрын

    Thank You, I can only offer my opinion on long term. I believe that if you use a mylar bag (7mil) and a good O2 absorber with a good seal and proper storage conditions that it should last as long as real cheese or dairy, I figure 10 years or more looking at the commercial products.

    Ok, let’s take this one step further and add freeze dried lobster 😮! Freeze dried lobster Mac and cheese. Add a little imitation butter for that buttery flavor. Or, what about imitation crab in place of the lobster. Hmmmm……John?….I think that cheese dip was very popular in the 80’s. We used to serve it by the truck load on the weekends when we had 42 (dominoes) parties with 5-6 other couples. Never thought to use it in Mac and cheese, but it sure sounds good!

    Wow. Excellent job. I bought 6 gallons of chocolate milk today and put 5 gallons in my xl freeze dryer then watched your first hot chocolate video and the butter fat floated on the top. Now I have 6 gallons of full fat chocolate milk in the freezer dryer and I’m afraid I’ll have the same results. I wished I had watched that before I ordered the milk. And seen your hot chocolate video where you made it from scratch with cocoa powder. I am not expecting good results. Wish I knew how to fix it. Any advice from anyone would be great.

    Did you recently replace your vacuum pump? We're looking for one that isn't sold by HR as the one we got from them when we bought the freeze dryer was garbage.

    Yes I did, a couple of months ago. I have been using it for 2 months with no issues but I need to see how it holds out long term, as you can see I use my FD a lot but only time will tell if it is a good deal. I like it because at least I can buy rebuild kits. I have the pump listed in my Amazon Store if you want to check it out. You can find the link to my store in the description box of this video.

    @@JohnInBibs I saw the comment you made on Amazon which led me to search for you on KZread. We will likely buy the same one you did. We have the large freeze dryer and HR sold the same size pump with all the freeze dryer regardless of the size of the unit. Doesn't make sense to put the same size vacuum pump on a unit that processes 8 pounds of food and one that processes 16 pounds. It's undersized for the large freeze dryer. We didn't even make it through the first year before the thing started failing and HR customer's service is a joke.

    @@user-li5br8in6z You will have to get an adapter to connect the hose to the pump. I got mine from fixmyfd.com don't look like he sells them anymore but you could try and use the contact button and ask him

    I don’t remember if I told you or not, so I’ll say it here. You don’t need to show your face, it’s not going to increase subs. There’s another Tuber about our same age (though you’re probably a little older than me) who shows his face in every video. He has just as many subs as you. Maybe 1 thousand more, but not 2 thousand. Either you or he (my memory falls short) mentioned your main audience is our age group. You want more subs? Get a young (20-30 yr old) filly to do the presentation. Women pay attention to women, men pay attention to good looking women. I’m not saying go away, I’m saying have someone introduce the video and say goodbye from at the end, with your preparation in the middle (and her voice in there too).
