Freewing L-15 - BEACH FLYING #2 with Multi Cameras ...and a CRASH!

This is the 2nd time out for the L-15 and taking it to a new risk level by mounting various cameras on locations that would normally be inadvisable due to CG, air flow and other unforeseen problems. But it survived each test...even a crash that allows me to fly this great little jet again. A breezy day with winds coming off the ocean on Australia Day 2024. Enjoy the experience!

Hi Randy, many thanks for your encouraging words. Australia Day & long weekend here draws the beach crowd but i found this area nice & quiet. Some challenging flights there & the jet is all repaired back to new. Regards & many thanks again mate.

Noel that is an impressive little jet! Loved the views. Bro that was a great job flying. When they are that out of balance you have to fight all the way, and you righted it for the most part and prevented a cartwheel.

Hi there Adam, always enjoy your comments & advice. I really put this jet to the test & now look forward to a relaxed flight. The Freewing ( my first) have done a good job with the gyro but not as good as an AR630-637 as this one can be a little jumpy/sensitive. But for the price of this 4s with reverse thrust at around US$120 it’s not too bad. Many thanks for taking the time to watch in your very busy life.🇦🇺🇺🇸

Hi Noel - great video full of excitement and experimental camera placement - thanks - question - what method do you use to attach the Mobius cameras - as you know i use Velcro but this limites me to permanent camera position- I really would like to try each wingtip as you have but no idea how to hold them in place without paint damage.. Motion RC have said it can be hand launched ??...

G’day Martyn My boy. It was exciting indeed. Have been waiting for less windy days & 16kph was the calmest but still not the best with cross winds coming in from the surf. I have not used velcro type attachments for cameras for a long time as it causes the camera to wobble . Use double sided 3m tape that has a thin sponge in between. I then cut pieces thin & apply a fresh piece each time i detach. Also use clear sticky tape in the desired camera positions to protect the paint work. Later you can apply a warm cloth or tissue over it ( overnight) & will come away easily with no residue. Other than gliders or the Ultrix, i do not like hand launching. Make sure of your CG when using cameras otherwise, like me, you will be battling the flight. Regards mate.🇦🇺🇬🇧

@@BellairvideoSorry about your mishap, Noel, but very glad that you will easily be able to repair the slight damage. Your videos are very inspiring and encourage others to experiment with the techniques you have shared. Your landscapes (ocean areas) are absolutely gorgeous. The beach looked a little more crowded than usual on this day. Thanks again for making these videos that challenge others to “push outside the envelope” and try different ideas. You are truly a leader in your field. THANKS!!! 👍🏻🙂

Wait? At 6:00 Did you say 15-25$k for the "real aircraft"? I'd say jets cost a bit more than that!
