F-22 Raptor with 9-Blade 90mm EDF Jet from Freewing - PNP - FJ31311P
The F-22 Raptor is the world’s first Fifth Generation fighter that delivers cutting edge advances in low observable “stealth” capabilities, enhanced computer-assisted agility, and precision combat capability. The F-22 represents the future of modern air combat, and its technology continues to set the standard against which all other Fifth Generation fighters are judged.
The Freewing F-22 is a flying RC replica of this innovative fighter jet. Boasting both the lowest stall speed and one of the highest top speeds among all of Freewing’s jets, be prepared to fly a wide flight envelope with this visually stunning model aircraft! Freewing’s F-22 is capable of maneuvers most other EDFs can only dream of -our design team considers it a Performer and a Trainer in one. The Freewing F-22 measures 1500mm in length with a wingspan of 1060mm. Assembled from an array of materials including EPO foam, aluminum, carbon fiber, steel, nylon, plastic, and wood, the Freewing F-22 delivers extreme maneuverability and reliable durability on grass runways. The model aircraft features a mixture of sharp panel lines, graduated paintwork, and realistic decals. More than 15 colors of paint and decals combine to represent the subtle but complex surface shades and panels seen on the full-size F-22. The model’s main colors appear to slightly “shift” depending on the light conditions, with metallic, matte, and semi-gloss surfaces working to achieve the subtle effect. This isn’t your average plain gray jet!
The Freewing F-22 is simultaneously capable of extreme expert-level maneuvers and sedate trainer-like flying. A widened gear stance and larger-than-scale grass-appropriate wheels greatly improve ground handling on short grass runways. The servo operated nose gear door is also aided by recessed magnets to help hold the doors shut during flight. Even without flaps, the model can takeoff in less than 100 feet! In the flight pattern, the Freewing F-22 truly shines. It is highly maneuverable and very difficult to stall, and can be flown at high angles of attack including high-alpha, and wild maneuvers including Cobra, inverted Immelmans, etc. Overall, our design team developed the Freewing F-22 to be able to fly a similar pattern to that flown by the real F-22 in its popular air show demonstration routine. Despite its extreme capabilities in the hands of expert RC pilots, the Freewing F-22 can also be cruised comfortably at 40%-50% throttle for stable flying as a 90mm Jet Trainer for RC pilots moving up from the 70mm-80mm Jet sizes. In the landing pattern, flaps are not required to slow the model to a long and level descent. If flaps are used, please see the manual for appropriate mixing.
The F-22’s maximum level airspeed has been measured at 170KPH / 106MPH
Expanding the customization possibilities with your model, Motion RC also provides free downloads of 3D Printable files for a complete 3DPUP Cockpit Set, Ejection Seat, Static Display AIM-9, and Static Display Intake/Exhaust Covers. These 3DPUP files in .STL format are optimized for printing on common FDM-type printers and require very minimal assembly. For an additional challenge, a Canopy Frame Set is also available for modelers who want to experiment with a fabricating their own servo-driven opening canopy function.
Overall, the Freewing 90mm F-22 is a very approachable flyer and suitable for pilots moving up to their first 90mm jet from a 70mm or 80mm jet. For pilots already familiar with the handling of a 90mm jet, this F-22 offers the potential to master an expanded set of realistic maneuvers.
Put stealth aside -stand out and be seen ruling the skies with your Freewing f22 f-22 Raptor today!

You don't need me to tell you this but... This video deserves a million views! It is simply the perfect build video for this airplane, with clear, concise, and honest information. Thanks for the effort.

You made my day, thank you! I try my best to fill in the blanks left by the manuals and other videos, thanks for the feedback!
I first installed my receiver, then cycled the gear so the gear was down. That made the wing install super easy.

If you aren't going to take the wings (or anything else) off that screwing into metal a little blue Loctite will keep them from ever backing out.
I was just thinking, if you place a piece of paper in the wheel well, you may not have to keep lifting the landing gear to get the wings on. I haven't tried it because I'm currently researching this model to see if I want to buy it. Maybe someone else has an idea to make the wheels slide. Great video though!
What an AMAZING plane 😍 did it come with the controller when you ordered it? I have a 1/18 Jolly Rogers Tomcat by JSI none rc just a plastic model. And I have a 1/18 hornet by BBI but I've never owned a freewing before but I find myself blown away by freewing the f22 Raptor is on my next to buy list it's simply amazing 😍

Its awesome, thanks!
My ar 8000 was doing the same thing so after talking to the guy at Motion RC that told me that the receiver was the problem , so I used a ar6210 and every thing was fine ! Said they was a problem with some of the ar 7000 & 8000 receivers !

@@JohnVHRC What did you end up doing? the blue box is why I don't buy Freewing planes anymore... everyone I have bought has massive brown outs causing crashes... I haven't had this issue yet with Eflite and FMS planes.. I really want to buy Freewing's stuff but I feel like Im throwing money away.

@@JohnVHRC lol I see what you're implying... noted
A little late to the party... I two Freewing Avanti S 80mm EDFs that I enjoy tremendously. I love this F-22, but regarding the stabilizers, I'm wondering if you set up any dual elevators, flaperons or tailerons? I'm a Spectrum guy, so I'm thinking I need at a minimum a AR8360T or a AR10360T to do this?

I set it up like a normal plane, I dont believe it was dual anything.
Did you plug the UBEC power plug into the Receiver Throttle slot ?? Will your motor run like that ?? It looked like James form Motion RC just plugged the UBEC power wire into a empty space on receiver and plugged the wire marked THROTTLE in to the Receiver throttle slot.

A receiver can be powered from any port on it.
@jagdieppe

@@JohnVHRC Yep, but on the flip side with this plane and the blue box, you end up losing a receiver port to the throttle and a receiver port to the power. I know everyone says use a y-cable, but heck I already had one with the afterburner lights, so didn't want to double on the y-cables.
So was the blue box bad .
Would this be hard to transport meaning removing the wings

@@JohnVHRC That's the thickness of the wing I was gonna do for my rc model with 120mm edfs. I designed it on my own but I thought that the amount of thrust I would get of the wings were 1cm thick would be less than required. As a result I saw this clip and in the comments I marked the time when you showed the thickness of the wing.Btw, what is the thickness pf the wing and does it get thinner near the outer edge of the wing?
Setscrews arent that great, You really cant tighten a setscrew without stripping out the allen head. Even on the retracts that have setscrews that hold the strut in I replace those with allen socket machine screws . You can really tighten them down

Sad my bitch day was like not long me looken at this and see a baby plane and me like nope 90mm is looken good pls support
That stand sucks! It’s way too short. I can see where you blocked it up with a piece of wood so that your vertical stabilizer don’t hit the table when it’s upside down. That is a huge deal, a lot of your work is with the plain inverted in the stand. I may add this plane to my fleet of free wing jets. Other than that not a bad video.

This plane lives on this stand (the stand wasnt designed for this BTW). I love it!
