Twisted my ankle joint really hard 6 weeks ago on my first try grinding (without having any board control) ... Fuck the skatepark! Hope to get back on the board ASAP to learn all this fancy freestyle stuff instead :)

Oooh I wasn't twisting with my front foot but only pushing with my back, I'll give it another shot later today! thanks!!

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I wasn’t aware of the importance of leading the trick with the front foot. I’ve been hoofing the board around with my back foot while unweighting the front a touch. Will be trying this with more effort from my front foot.

That's basically what I do. It works fine most of the time but I tend to pop sometimes though. Old habit as I was street skater for close to 20 years before transitioning to freestyle.

You should try a switchblade then instead of jumping back to your back foot, try using the backfoot to flip the board over into casper or truckstand. Would probably look cool, idk if its possible

@@mike_osterman1 I can't quit figure out how to get regular Casper down, my feet only understand anticasper lol but I've tried them a few times, I need better switchblades lol mine aren't consistent enough and like to stop just past 90* . Maybe eventually

You actually CAN nosehook from the end tailstop into a casper, it's not easy but it's possible, the video on switchblades from Freestyle Trick Tips features one such maneuver

Ive been doing them with my toes hanging off the nose because i can't seem to do it the way you are here. i need to practice it more like this though because it works better coming out of other tricks this way.

oh wow, twisting your ankle to make the board turn almost makes the back foot part seem like a misdirection to what's actually making it turn. I know you refer to it as switchblade position but would it be fine to refer to it as goofy footed to make sure people understand that it's important to face your front foot with toes facing forward to get the extra momentum from your ankle making the turn? The quick tips are definitely motivational, thanks for uploading them.

how much does the difficulty go up on just a standard popcicle? I'm new to skateboarding in general and just wondering if I'm walking up too steep a hill.

For this trick? I could do it, it's not too bad, you may have to adjust the foot position slightly though
