Understanding the nature of our projections on money is relevant to us personally because our projections determine how free we are in dealing with money and how free we feel to live the life we want to live.
MONEY IS A PROJECTION
To quote Yuval Noah Harari ‘Money is not coins and banknotes. Money is anything that people are willing to use in order to represent systematically the value of other things for the purpose of exchanging goods and services…Money was created many times in many places. Its development required no technological breakthroughs - it was a purely mental revolution. It involved the creation of a new inter-subjective reality that exists solely in people’s shared imagination.’
MONEY ISN'T REAL
Even if it often appears otherwise in everyday life, money is only one thing: a medium - physical or virtual - on to which we project, as if onto a neutral screen, our fantasies, desires, and insecurities. You may think this is a bold statement, given that you know for a fact you need money to pay your rent or mortgage, for food, or for your holiday. So, what do we mean when we say that money exists in this way and functions through the process of projection?
MONEY AS A CULTURAL CONSTRUCT
The object which we call Money has its own intrinsic value as being an object in its own right. Its separate monetary value only comes into existence through human projection. We agree that it qualifies as money: how much of it there is and how much of it you need to acquire something else for it. Money therefore has no intrinsic worth of its own and in a sense does not exist. At best, we are looking at a piece of printed paper or embossed metal, or, as is more often the case these days, we look at zeros on a computer. In another way, money might be viewed as a promise and only works if we collectively trust in and value this promise. It is a cultural construct that functions through projection that we treat as if it were a law of nature.

Born in England he now lives in Switzerland and travels widely giving consultations, presentations and seminars on the topic.

In Hinduism, goddess Lakshmi is goddess of money. Abundance is the right word. And we see her in her 8 forms , ashtalakshmi (8 Lakshmi's). This list of 8 includes 1. primordial source (Spiritual abundance within), 2. bravery, 3. grains (food), 4.children (creativity), 5. power, 6.victory, 7.knowledge, 8.power to manifest etc (Google gives details). In Vedic astrology, goddess Lakshmi is planet Venus, and Position and health of this planet in the chart is used to see the abundance in one's life .. Great video. 1. What is Money for You? 2. Running after money., Running away from money., Running after AND away from money. 3. It's the existance that is securing us, not that we are securing our existance. 4. Belief that we have to earn/deserve our existance. 5. Reconnect and reclaim to your original security. Use words and phrases - reintegrate. 6. Tick off "feeling insecure" off from your list, and it's dealt with - it's done and gone. 7. Stop complaining and look out for what it is you want to be doing. 8. Personal sovereignty. Liberation. 9. Reclamation of projections on Money - deepest Spiritual work. 10. 'Money = Energy' - still illusion. 11. True spirituality - ability to integrate everything, including the human creation of money. 12. Love is everything. 13. Slow down, however accelerate inner work. 14. Building another level of consciousness and being grateful for the "good" in the old system. 15. New 'money',. Intrinsic Coin ( so exciting ❤️💚💛) 16. Taking responsibility for your creation. It always comes back to you.

For a starters, it implies that there is something to buy. Money is meaningless, if the most crucial things you need to keep your body alive, are absent. So this discussion might not resonate for that part of the world population that doesn’t have access to security, food and clean water. They might have stacks of money stocked somewhere...it wouldn’t serve. I think it was an north-American indigenous saying that the day we have destroyed and polluted all our water,air and earth resources, humanity will find out you can’t eat money (or gold for that matter). Let’s pray we wake up before that. It’s time!!

There has to be a distinction made between money and our present monetary system. Money itself comes into “existence” based on our agreement of its validity. At the most practical level it represents the limited energy, time and resources we have in the form of goods and services to be exchanged for other goods and services that we want or need. So, it’s just a neutral useful tool. However, the problem with our monetary system is that it has been monopolised and manipulated by very few people for at least over a hundred years. The owners of the system are creating money out of thin air. Their money being completely based on debt, rather than anything of value or effort, these parasites constantly create inflation, recessions and depressions throughout the world to convert their worthless money into actual assets, that is essentially the result of our blood and effort. Playing with the value of our effort, time and what belong to us, they have managed to play with the values of the whole society. Poverty, wars, etc are the direct result of this manipulation. We could learn to feel free even in a prison like Mandela, as you mentioned, but in a world where we are being cornered to give up our most basic rights and freedom, I think that would be very selfish. If we don’t do anything about our corrupt monetary system, very soon, when the system is completely digitalised, our very physical survival would depend on the mercy of the banking parasites, the governments and big corporations/pharma, as we are witnessing their merging against the humanity.

This is a really intelligent and insightful comment. Thank you. I am not sure how our broken political & economic systems can be repaired. Wealth inequality seems to be widening in a way that is reminiscent of the period just prior to the French revolution.
Barclays founded 1690, Lloyds 1765. Both founded by Quaker families. I never knew this - fascinating, so just looked it up. If only the strong, moral ethics of Quaker remained in finance we might have a different relationship to money in this century. Lilou it would be a great idea to interview some Quakers and educate people a little more about their take on life. It’s very life-affirming.
