I'm always excited to see videos from you. pure Chidera accent 😋. great video. lots of information for beginners and advice too. love your hair the way it is and however it turns out. dealing with the comparisons was a journey for me and still is, but gosh I love my locs. and in Nigeria, females with thicker sized locs are like a spectacle. i've gotten mixed reactions and some even go further to school me. which is just annoying. and yeah, I am getting even more and more confident. can't wait for more videos! and blog posts!☺️

@@ChideraStephen with free form should I bath inside my hair when bathing?
Technically you started as semi free form because you started from two strand twist. It's important to tell people this so they know how to actually freeform. Freeforming means to allow your locs to grow organically on it's own. No twisting, no sponge, and or coils. Just washing and allowing the locs to form on it's own. I started my freeforming locs in December.

I’ve been growing my locs for 5 years and I at times catch myself comparing my locs to other people I’m learning to just enjoy my own journey and I’m freeforming my locs ❤️ this is the best decision I’ve ever made for my hair !

@Chloe Great it can cause buildup, which can lead to some nasty stuff like a bad smell and even mold. It’s also extremely hard to get out of your locs. If you are going to use it, do so very sparingly.
I'm a semi-free former and check back here from time to time when I need remember it ok not to have those perfect-square-parts-ultra manicured locks that some opt for. Love these photos. NICE!

You just gave me confidence,I have a relaxed hair yeah,but I stopped adding relaxer since 1 year and three months ago,so I started palm rolling myself around March,but anytime I put water they scatter,so I think I’m going to leave it to free form,stop combing,stop brushing and stop twisting.
this was so informative, I am learning the so many different ways i can go with my hair, Beautiful, just beautiful

Two strand twist, leaving it natural my hair is still in its stages I love getting compliments it’s a lot of time and patience to let your locs form I don’t like the word dreads cause that’s the world that they gave locs to call them dreadful but locs are beautiful and it’s the culture not in to dying locs it’s not the way.. natural and not putting chemicals to rush the process just let it be free sprite that’s how I was taught..

hey namesake big ups on the video and thanks for spreading truths about locking of our natural hair however All types of hair will lock regardless of race... only difference will be the time at which the lock will happen and of course the curl/shape pattern that the hair lock will naturally form in take. Once again I thank you for sharing this knowledge in our country.

I'm almost a month loc’d, honestly I don't know which type of lock I have. My loctician used her fingers to do the locking. She was about to crotchet it after when I asked, I like the way it looks now, what will happen if we don't crotchet? She said nothing it is loc’d.. Then let's leave it I said. I went to interlock it yesterday. They are thick because I love to have thick loc’s. Now watching this I think I'm freeforming yaaaay🤣.

Can one go from semi freeforming to fully freeforming? Especially someone that started with interlocking.
@ariesmry
10 ай бұрын
Free forms are when you start your locs by allowing the hair to clump naturally. When you start from braids/twists/interlocking, even with low maintenance, the locs tend to look more manicured because of the base. But the journey isn’t about the terminology or category of your locs. The only time the type of locs you have become relevant is when you are centering your content around hair.
is mdada a bad word?

First recorded doesn't mean first originated there. We know how history and how these "records" people trust so much were tempered with and how a lot was ommitted. In the end, the structure of hair tells which hair type was built for locs. Actually, who really cares where locs originated?
