Free TV & How They Got You Watching Ads Again
When Netflix became many people’s go-to for streaming TV online in the early 2010s, it felt like the days of watching ads with your favourite shows were coming to an end. In recent years though, there’s been a reversal of this trend, with many streaming services, including Netflix, now offering cheaper ad-supported tiers. We’ve even seen an explosion in free ad-supported streaming services, where the only price is your attention. But how did we get here and what does the future of TV look like?

If they keep it up with the ads the 2000s era is gonna repeat its self we invented Adblockers to prevent malicious activity not encourage it if they break adblockers viruses will be attacking your computer like in the 2000s soon enough we MIGHT want to bring back disk drives and revert back to the old ways and install everything from a CD.

Take away KZreads right to making policies because I know how to permanently end ads by just disabling Javascript not today Satan.
Bloody brilliant, say some more hachs mate.

Your privilege is crazy, imho. Media consumption has become so easy for almost anyone to enjoy. Just 10 years ago, people had to pay $50-$150 dollars, sign contracts, pay for hardware, remotes, etc. just to watch TNT, ESPN, and TBS, with commercials literally almost as long as the scenes from whatever you were watching. Also, everything was edited and cut for the commercials. Now, you can pay $30 for two subscriptions, watch whatever you want whenever you want, almost anywhere you are, and watch more that 5x the content available with cable or satellite. The narrative that TV consumption is getting worse, is asinine.

Thank you for your comment! That's valid, I recognise I have a privileged perspective on this. The narrative of my video wasn't meant to be that TV consumption is getting worse, I do mention in the video that ad tiers make Netflix more affordable and there's lots of good content on free TV, like Jury Duty on Freevee.

*One small question for the creator:* Is your voice AI voice or human voice? ● I read the video description and I was confused about the usage of AI. Is this video made by a real human? Please enlighten me. Thanks.

The voice is entirely mine! Sorry for the confusion about the description - my next video is about an AI topic and I'd already started making it when I uploaded this, so I got mixed up there. I've updated the description and label.

Time to petition to bring back regular TV and ban SmartTVs for invading people's privacy.
Streaming is just turning everything into more expensive or suckier versions of pre streaming/cable. But now it is more expensive. You got sold a bill of goods people
You guys pay to watch ads? 😅
