Andy, wife and I love all your videos and have been fans for some time now so keep up the good work! We just returned from our annual Vallarta 2-week Christmas trip and because of your video we had to stop in and visit Joey(love that guy). Such a cheerful glimpse into an area of Puerto Vallarta I had not seen. Joey was adorable and has a great spirit of Joy that outshines any sadness or loss he might feel. Thanks so much for highlighting Joey and his journey in this video. We all have so much to be grateful for!! After getting sick on Tequila years ago, I am not likely to try it again.. however Mezcal holds a place in my heart after I shared a glass or two with a couple Friars In Puebla..

@@timelesstravelclub6240 I can't imagine dealing with health issues and deportation and then a leg amputation...My husband is a double amputee due to diabetes...his health is stable now after a difficult few years. I cannot imagine not having financial and emotional support during the time. There is little formal government support programs in Mexico..it is primarily family/community based. The people are hustling to survive. I remember in front of the great cathedral in Guadalajara a better with open wounds on his leg and a lady with no arms knitting with her toes. Yet there is not a negativity in the air. Folks are just trying to survive. I give a few... pesos pennies and it is the difference for surviving. Bought bread in the square in Morelia and gave the beautiful loaf to an old lady begging in front of the church..... Let me know how I could give Joey help in getting his prosthetic.

@@maryannelarsen1186 Yes, I too have seen people in Mexico begging for pesos in very poor health. I can't imagine. I'm trying to think of a way to get Joey some help. My brother wants to give an offering as well. I'm heading back late January. Maybe I can come up with something by then. If you have any ideas please pass them my way.

What a great skill - encouraging people like Joey to share his story! I walked by Joey numerous times over the years and sped up as he was pitching his free tequila. I also respect that you tried to throw some business and support his way. I will stop in next time. As for tequila - I prefer mezcal - which is smoky because the pinas are cooked with fire and smoke - while tequila is cooked in ovens with steam. (I learned this in Tequila at the Cuervo distillery - where they had an outstanding family reserve tequila - it tasted like cognac). Keep up the wonderful storytelling!
