This I experienced in my personal life. I used to help my family members without them asking for help and in return they used to say we never asked your help , you are doing on your interest , after years later I realised my mistake and stopped helping them with out their request.

These are all stupid things you people are saying. You didn't understand her. She is absolutely correct. 100%. She is saying when you give something free, they dont respect your time, efforts and love you give unless there is even a slight price to it. And we have a saying in our language even when you donate, you should measure and give. And she is not disrespecting family relationships but even family takes a philanthropist for granted and doesn't appreciate unless there is a price. Only if you have experience like I have you know. Try it and you will know. Use your common sense in her speech and not literal meaning. What they say is right, common sense is really not common.

My ideal forever *Sudha Mam* !! Yessss true mam anything for free is never respected, esp teaching, donation (we shouldn't expect anything in return but atleast respect) including love care affection and concern! I realised it, infact shocked when a book I wrote as free supplement for awareness was translated into another language and sold for money! Another occasion I gave around 45 notebooks to my maid for free as my kids were shifted to new school (only that school's notebooks were accepted there) so that she can use it for her kids in Govt school but she had made money with them from the waste paper vendor!😡😠 Above all my husband has been supporting his brothers family ever since he completed his studies. For 32 yrs! His brother dodging invokes my husband's sympathy and my husband does overtime at the cost of family time and needs . A-Z provisions, kids studies, festival expenses, home appliances all tz my husband's part! His brother is 59 yrs now still ......😒😔For divorced sister too her daughter family studies marriage dowry.....😠😡The supporter is my mother in law and I have become the worst enemy for I questioned it! Stay safe and blessed all🌄🌈🙏🙏

Everyday Sudha Mam met a boy selling shoe laces and one day she asked him out of concern, "how much he makes per day?" When he replied that he gets Rs.20 per day, she calculated his monthly income and negotiated with him about her offer that she will be paying him Rs.600 and in return, he will have attend school regularly and show his progress report once in a year.. He agreed and starts attending his school. 3 Years went by and one day he came to her office to meet Sudha Mam. When she allowes him into her cabin, he started to speak. This time he has come up with a proposal for increasi his monthly stipend from Rs.600 to Rs.900. Sudha Mam asked why and he calmly replied that a price of pair of shoe lace has increased from Rs.20 to Rs.30. She conveys to the audience that though he is given with education and money now.. he has never become a student but rather he is in school just because he is provided with money..

Here some one had donated some 1 lac of Bisleri water bottles. And the TTD authorities honestly gave free one bottle (1lt) to each one one devotee who asked for water. You know what the devotees did, they left half empty water bottles in cabins which no one usually does when he pays 15 to 20 ₹ a bottle. So No free. Everything comes down to how a human is, it doesn't matter if it is ur kids, parents, siblings or spouse.. It is the person deep down..... Atleast dog being of different breed n aggression level still they have loyalty and faithfulness towards the person who takes care of them, unlike us...

This advice is only partially right. Getting atlas was her dream, not everyone wanted it whom she gave. I think it’s more about giving people the necessary things that they value instead of giving them what we value. Like if we give food to an extremely hungry person, he is definitely going to eat it or blanket to someone living in footpath.

Philanthrophy is much bigger than feeding an empty stomach for a day. Its driven by results and changing lives - a long term impact. Giving Alms daily is different from one off lunch. Infact when we help the desperate, we actually take more than we give. its more of a confidence booster to us individually.

@@postwala2667 you’re right. How long can a model sustain on just feeding empty stomachs? For me personally if I m getting three times food, I will he zero motivation to work. The philanthropy model should be based on long term sustenance. Give free food in return for work. Along with salary!! That’s a better model.
