This place is so awesome y’all! Go check it out! This was filmed just a few weeks ago right before it got cold and snowy! Can’t wait for the spring to get back up there! We will be doing a group meetup for the crystal clubhouse!

Moat Mountain is pretty awesome. Unfortunately, I haven't been there in many years. Probably one of the best pieces I've seen from there was a large cabinet sized parallel growth smokey amethyst crystal cluster. It was AMAZING!!! So, some pretty special pieces can be found there. Keep it going, I love your videos

*HOME!* my favorite place on the planet. Wish I had the money to go home, tramping through the woods, hiking the mountains, reading and dozing in the sun by the rivers. Up in the highlands of the Northeast kingdom, north of the notches is the best place to be. Glad you had a good time and you're sharing your positive experience with everybody?😄
Wow, those are some very graphic intergrowths of quartz and feldspar! Love how the white feldspar and smoky quartz contrast and compliment one another.

Awesome place to my must do list! My 4 year Marriage just ended and my son and I are heartbroken! It's time to travel and make some amazing memories with my son 🙏♥️ Give little adorable Matrix my love 🙏♥️ Much respect always Bryan!
I've been going here for about 30 years and it's my favorite place. ALWAYS find something. My biggest whole crystal find is about 4 inches long by 1 1.2 wide. I found one side of a crystal that was about 4 x 6 inches. Would like to fine THAT guy. It's an easy hike in the summer and there are always people there.
Man, love how you cut to the cleaned version of your digs as you go. You are definitely getting me psyched to get out hounding again. Heading to sunstone country here in Oregon in a couple months. A gem I've never hunted for, but can't wait to give a "whaaat"

@@TheCrystalCollector Yes there has. The son of one of the owners of a crystal shop near there found a piece on the side of Moat mountain the size of a basketball that’s clear as glass and 2 feet long. We used to stop by there sometimes to buy books for crystal site locations and just to look and see what had been found.
Man, when you said "feldspar" I was REALLY hoping to see either schiller moonstone or labradorescence, some sort of chatoyancy but this is still cool.
Love the crystal collector!

Wow! Been there a couple times. Did not do nearly as well. Nice
Hey, that's pretty much where I grew up. As soon as I saw the covered bridge and the river view I almost jumped out of my chair. Awesome!!! Obviously wasn't last week. If you ever get back out that way, at least poke your head into Ruggles Mine down in Grafton, great mica pieces and some occasional quartz crystals, at least there was many years ago. I actually found a cathedral piece there that I just found again packed away in a box that I had completely forgotten about and it's soaking in soapy water as I type. If you see an old guide book that talks about the staurolite at Perch Pond in Lisbon, don't bother. It got bought and someone built a house there, I think I was one of the last people to get something out of there, that was probably 2 decades ago, maybe a bit less. There's great stuff up in the whole Northern New England area, plus it's downright beautiful. Glad to see you got up there after Herkimer.

I love when you point right to something and say, “See it right there.” It reminds me of the episode of Friends when Rachel is pregnant and goes for her first ultrasound but starts crying when the doctor leaves the room saying, “I don’t see it!” That’s me. I never see it until you hold it up unless it’s really big even though you’re pointing right at it. Lol!

One of the pieces you showed us with the smokey crystals and the feldspar crystals looked like pieces of chocolate mixed with small white marshmallows lol, I haven't had either in years but it made me laugh at myself. The heart shape is my favourite, its gorgeous Bryan and the rest of them are small but special. The different colours the ordinary Crystal's and the smokey maybe quite small but well worth searching for. Its a beautiful place to spend time in too. Take care and stay safe please my friend God bless you and Matrix love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK ps Terry says hello.

Hi Buster
People have been digging there since the 60s. But there are spots there that you can get into Virgin ground but its a lot of work. Just up the hill from where you are i got a smokey/topaz pocket. Hey Byan, this is great stuff. I love that you take the time to explain what you're looking for and how to recognize the right conditions for those bigger crystals. Moat is one of my favorite spots, and I usually get up there several times a year. Even though people have been digging there since at least the 1940's there is still amazing stuff to find. Back in 2020 I found a decomposed pocket with several huge, fist-sized smoky quarts crystals. If you plan to come back, I'd love to meet up and prospect with you!
