💬 Do you need custom animations for your games? Here's a really awesome mocap tool to help you do that!
All you need is a VR headset, I've been using my Quest 2, and in 60 seconds you can put on your headset and record a completely custom animation.
You can also make awesome animations involving multiple characters, like attacker-defender animations which are usually pretty tricky. But with this you can just Embody one character, record the animation, embody the second character, record again, and both will be perfectly synced!
Or use it for making awesome cutscenes. Set up cameras, lights, characters, props, and just record.
You can do all this either by yourself or in real-time collaboration with other people!

    Well, this is sick. I always wanted to do MoCap in my projects. Back when I started making games, MoCap wasn't even a thing. Then it went to something that cost like half a mil investment. Now everyone with 200$ can do at home. Still looks like there will be much manual cleanup needed after the capture when using a Quest, but this looks VERY promising.

    Really interesting concept...though the lack of being able to do the lower body does limit what you can do with it. I love the workflow though, it looks really intuitive and easy to use. I might have to dig into this more. I was considering picking up a 'cheap' $5k Rokoko mo cap suit, but this would be much more affordable.

    Totally unrelated to the topic but I have a question -> I use object pooling in my game and I instantiate many objects in the awake but I want to instantiate the objects when my game is loading (another scene). Loading scene is loading my main game and while it is activating (scene is loaded but activation is not allowed) I want to make all the objects I have tried everything but I can not find any way of making it happen. I know it will not do much but I thought of making it an asset which I can then use in any of my future games. Love your content , and hope you will release the dots implication in an actual game. Thanks for making so many free content

  • @CodeMonkeyUnity

    @CodeMonkeyUnity

    26 күн бұрын

    How are you loading? If you have some loading scene that visually says "Loading" it should stay on screen until all those objects are created. Assuming that object is placed on the scene so the Awake() is running instantly. Technically you could also use DontDestroyOnLoad on those objects and instantiate them in a previous scene, although that would be a bit of an odd solution.

  • @Bloodlydevil20

  • @CodeMonkeyUnity

    @CodeMonkeyUnity

    27 күн бұрын

    Are you asking how to make it just one character instead of tons of characters? You need to edit the .fbx to remove the other submeshes and leave just one character. Also when importing into Blender the character will look all messed up, follow this guide kzread.info/dash/bejne/aq2avJSvZsLWfZs.html Then when exporting the .fbx with just one character make sure you don't include animations or it will break. After that you have the .fbx that you can import into Animotive.
