FREE CLEANING 🩷 FOR FORMER ALCOHOLIC | CLEANING MOTIVATION

So much Starbucks! As her mental health deteriorated, so did her house. Including the refrigerator. With a broken dishwasher, she gave up washing dishes and only gets take out. Eats on paper plates. And SO MUCH COFFEE.
She had given up when we came to help. The trash built up. Her fridge was full of partly drunken coffee cups. It hadn't been cleaned in years. It was a disaster. We deep cleaned her fridge (and her house) for free.
She's an amazing individual who needed a little help getting her home back on track. So many people love her and tried to help but it was too much. We're deeply grateful that she trusted us and let us come inside.
Catch the rest of her story on our new KZread cleaning video series, Loved or Dead. We share the story of people who are stuck and ready to make big changes. We help them clear the dead stuff in their home so they have more space for what they love.

Wow that’s one of the kindest things I have ever heard. My dad and mom drank and I went to lots of AA meetings and was raised to believe the only was tough love- do nothing for them; make them do it themselves or they’ll drink themselves to death. I don’t think that’s necessarily so. But probably as it’s been widely disseminated as true this woman really needed the unbelievable kindness. Wow.

Do you know of any *compassionate* people who could help someone with cleaning needs in the Columbus, Ohio area?

Look for agencies that help Elderly, children and disabled people. I used to work for JFCS. Catholic Services used to send clients to us if they were over flowing visa versa. Lutheran Services etc. They can also help you find other agencies of you don't qualify.

I wish I had sympathy for this person but I don’t, we were “raised “ by alcoholic alcoholic parents. Total nightmare. You did a great job cleaning though!

I encourage you to have a heart and more empathy. I have yet to recover my house to clean standards from when I was in an auto accident which was not my fault. Currently, I have a sprained wrist (possibly broken). I wish I had more understanding people to help. You have no idea how critical comments like yours make me feel.

Thanks for speaking up! I agree we should all have more empathy for those trying to do their best. We have much more of this woman’s story coming up in our new series, Loved or Dead. Coming this fall! I think it’ll bring people hope.
