Marine Twins Madelene and Irene Spencer served during WW2 as part of the team making up the Direct Hit Bond Tour. The tour starred Boxing Champion Jack Dempsey (who was a Coast Guard Officer), Gene Autry (the singing Cowboy), and Frank Fontaine (Comedian and Singer).
