He sure was! A couple of years ago we went to Zolder (Belgium) to see a raceday and there was also .... Kevin Schwantz. Of course we made a picture of him. Next to Freddie he was also a serious hero of the day. His riding style was absurd. Today the championship is a Spanish / Italian game. God, I love two-strokes.

I had one of these back in the day, amazing bit of kit… And as always, wish I’d kept it like many other bikes I’ve owned in the past…

Freddie, I am from The Netherlands. Today they completely destroyed everything that is fun. I mean, for instance, you just don't know who is who because you can't see the numbers anymore and also they are just too fast. Also the crowd is way to far away from the drivers. Do you remember Wil Hartog and Jack Middelburg winning? The crowd was there.

the 400 market in Japan might have had something to do with it?

@@AndyPat239 agreed but they possibly still could have made a 500 for the global market as Suzuki did with the RG...who knows but a 500 triple would have been sweet..

Blame Americians. They starting sueing Suzuki and Yamaha for making "dangerous" 500cc bike available to the public that injured and killed people. So Honda decided to make a safer 400cc . I have one. Looks good. Goes ok but nothing special. Makes a cool noise. Drinks fuel and oil .
