It's sad that John missed Freddie so much after his death that he couldn't go on. After seeing how tortured John was after his last Queen appearance, I understand totally how he couldn't go on without Freddie. Without Freddie, there is no Queen

I feel so bad for John, he and Freddie were best friends. I can't imagine what he's going through. I don't blame him for a second for leaving Queen but at the same time I'm glad that the rest of the band carried on, as difficult as that was. I wish John my very best and he will always have a place in my heart right next to Freddie.

Deacy is clean true and honest person. Neither money nor vanity makes John dizzy. After Freddie's death, he was the only one who behaved decently.

Lovely video. But, my heart hurts for John, and I think most of us can understand why he stepped away from Queen when he did, and can relate to his feelings as presented in this video, especially those concerning the Queen/Robbie Williams WATC thing. I also can't help but feel that anyone singing Freddie's songs, no matter how talented they might be, is just plain sacrilegious to Freddie's memory and very distasteful. Freddie was an irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind talent, and beautiful, exceptional human being whose music should remain his alone out of respect. Freddie remains greatly loved and greatly missed, and thankfully we have so many of his amazing performances on film to cherish forever. Keep honoring your friend, John. We share your pain. RIP beautiful Freddie. ❤

John seemed happier when Freddie was around, John would smile from ear to ear. Who wouldn't be smiling with Freddie. I agree that it takes the same 4 to be Queen, Freddie is not replaceable. However, life should go on and it is still nice to hear music from who is left. Would Freddie want them to curl up and never play? Freddie fought so hard to be on stage when he was hurting. I think they all need to make their own decision on how they want to live, just as long as they live.

John would never have been able to be a professional bassist for long due to his anxiety and shyness. It was Freddie who wanted him in the band as Roger and Brian were already in Smile before Queen and knew each other. Freddie, the extrovert, felt a sense of older brother towards this shy man. Took him under his wing and protected him from the harshness of celebrity. He was there to help John and bring him out of his shell. And he got John to write music and come up with some of Queen;s big hits. Freddie was John's best friend, his savior and his hero. When Freddie died John hit a depression and some say never totally came out of it. And while he helped the band sometimes behind the scenes his heart was not in it. It was like a part of him died when Freddie died. Such a sad and tragic story and yet, in some ways an endearing one of the compassion of Freddie and his loyalty and John's hero worship and loyalty.

Freestone does like to act like he knows everything John joined Queen in 71 Freestone met them in 79 John was with Varonica when he joined and they married in 75 Freddie and John were they same throughout their career Yes Freddie helped john with his songs But it was more supporting him and wouldn't take any credit The songs credited to both of them isnt John saying thankyou They wrote them together Same as Roger and Freddie wrote Innuendo together

Even me i dont know what happen i am queen fans starting from 1997 but when lambert try to took over mr fahrenheit place i dont wanna ever click any videos that is with lambert i just dont wanna spoil the originality and charisma of fred.... John did not arrive at the same place as Brian because he came from somewhere very different than Brian. They all brought something very different from the others to the band than the other 3 members. I would think, that Brian, being the "smart" one, would realize that. Yeah, Brian wrote a lot of songs, but I like some of the songs by the others much better.

Deaky was fragile and extremely sensitive. I’m sure they said their goodbyes before, and I don’t think Deaky would have dealt well at all seeing Freddie so sick. I think Freddie understood that. He was extremely depressed after Freddie died. Not everyone has the strength to see a beloved friend dying.

There are no sources that say John never visited Freddie. In fact the media only began to create this rumor due to the fact that John doesn’t publicly speak of Freddie and hasn’t been in the spot light in general. So basically you’re trifling with what is most likely a made up story to create drama.

According to Phoebe, John never visited Freddie after he stopped taking his medication because he was unable to handle it, and I think that Phoebe means that John would have cried or looked sad, which is something that Freddie had forbidden his visitors to do. He did visit Freddie before those last two weeks. Furthermore, I'm sure Dave Clark wouldn't have hugged John like he did in the funeral if he had thought that John had "abandoned" Freddie. I've never heard a single criticism about John's absence (not from Roger, Brian, Mary, Jim etc) and to me, it means that everyone understood why.
