I am currently reading Peter Freestone's book and he talks a lot about how Freddie and Montserrat met and started collaborating to make this album. They had so much admiration and respect for one another. I think Montserrat came into Freddie's life at the perfect time to help him realize and draw out that next level of his song writing genius and astounding vocal ability. It was already inside of him but he hadn't fully explored it until they met. He admired her so much and wanted to make her proud and it allowed him to tap into the next level of his brilliance as a musician. I am so happy Freddie had the opportunity to work with Montserrat before he died. Now they are together again, no doubt serenading the angels with their exquisite voices.

There was no limit to Freddie Mercury's talent. I keep stumbling across more and more songs he sang. What a lose his death was.

I'm sure Mercury was an accomplished mucisian, but this is not a "mini-opera" as you put it. An opera is per definition a play.

I love his Japanese accent. It's very gently...

This magnificent song is not only amazingly beautiful but also a testament of Freddie's love for Japan and the Japanese fans. He really was a one of a kind artist - so much more than many people realized. Freddie's vocals are superb (from tenor to falsetto) and Montserrat is glorious especially with that sustained vocal at 3:50. I am in awe!!!

Crazy to think Mercury wrote this at the same time he was writing songs for 'A Kind Of Magic' album.

Verse at 3:00 that freddie sings is just awesome.No any other rock star can sing opera like freddie.He was nd always been music.

There are no words for it .. It's beyond anything I've listened to so far .. How could Freddie be such a genius?.. Fortunately, he found Montserrat Caballé, who was the only one who lived up to his creativity. Their collaboration is pure delight and certainly the most amazing thing done in the world of music.

I always loved hearing Freddie speak or sing in Japanese - Teo Torriatte has been one of my favorite Queen songs from the moment I heard it and now i can add this one. Just sorry it took me so long to "discover" it. :)
