@@frederikduplessis3836 I think "royal family" is a bit of stretch...so he grew up with money but at least he's doing something that brings joy to millions. If I'd been born into a family with money like that, I'd like to imagine being able to do something along the lines of what Fred is..except Fred really, truly is VERY EXCEPTIONALLY fucking good at it. Kieran Hebden doesn't give just anyone a co-sign like that. Four Tet's DJ Kicks was one of the first times I realized that DJs could also be musicians - that was a huge revelation for me that helped me get into a ton of new genre at the time... Tbh, I've got no clue why I'm responding to this but there you go. I gave some thought about the issue and still don't care.

@@Rob-nv7ew Where to start...Firstly EDM is not a thing, it doesn't exist. It was invented by American marketing men to sell crap dance music to under 16's, such as Deadmau5. Dance music had existed for over 35 years before this silly 'genre' name, but it was largely ignored by the American mainstream. Secondly I LOVE sampling, when it's done right. I'm a big fan of DJ Shadow and the Avalanches. I love 90s Daft Punk but their later albums were just flimsy, But at least they used clever and unknown samples, not a 5 second singalong from one of the biggest tunes of the 90s for karaoke effect. Thats just lazy.

Fred is amazing. But Porter Robinson was doing the same thing with "emotional dance music" as far back as 2014. The pattern I see is that these producers try to inject some earnest emotion into dance music but then eventually wind up feeling alienated by the scene and separate from it. But to be honest I'm excited for what Fred's "nurture" era would be like.

I Raved in the 90s DJ'd in the later 90s and 00s and now do a bit of production here and there so I've seen a few bits n bobs this kid has something special he's one of the only newer artists who has that vibe 90s stuff had not just his music but in general everything, a bit like he was held back so the younger generation can experience some of what we did. bravo sir (love the use of the old BRM tune too)

Seeing Fred's happiness and his smile when the crowd doesn't wanna stop singing Billie (Loving Arms) is just priceless, this is what truly separates being a "famous" person and being a talented soul like Fred Again.. Keep at it my dude! We need you in this time of music. A Huge fan from Puerto Rico, hope I'll see you see you soon! Much love! ❤🇵🇷🔥

I've seen Fred in 3 different settings - at a festival in London in a tent he had no place of performing in (should've been on the main stage as a headliner), Brixton Academy the week before it got shut down, and his TBA gigs with Skrillex and Four Tet in a small but legendary spot (The Troxy in East London), and every damn time there is something special about his sets. My music taste is R&B, hip-hop and UK rap, but the energy he brings to his songs and especially his sets is simply euphoric. The vibes of the crowd is genuinely so positive and everyone is there for the music, no fuckeries that unfortunately I see at most gigs or festivals over the years (even the house festival I went to today). If you get the chance to see this man live, just take it. You will not regret it - maybe I'll see you at Ally Pally this September 😂

@SobrietyandSolace A week after Fred's gigs, Asake performed a few nights in Brixton, and there was a stampede/crush outside where 2 people eventually died as a result. It's been shut ever since (Dec 2022) and is being threatened with being permanently shut. Hopefully the local authorities see sense and not do it as it's such a legendary spot in London.

I'm so thankful I got to see Fred playing in Porto! That day, amidst the relentless rainfall, became etched in the deepest recesses of my heart and soul. In the midst of that tempestuous rainfall, I found myself surrendering to the ecstasy of the experience. It will forever stand as a testament to the beauty of being fully alive, of embracing every moment with unbridled passion. The laughter, the dancing, the tears, the kisses, and the hugs will be forever engraved in my mind. It was, undeniably, one of the most extraordinary days of my life, a day where the universe conspired to remind me of the power of human connection. To witness him, amidst the downpour, was nothing short of a cathartic revelation.
