I only recently discovered Fred at parklife in the summer. Two of the people I was with were adamant that we waited for his set. We waited an hour for him to set up, I was thinking he better be good, but also that he must be good if they were willing to wait for him to start. Well. He started his set and within 5 minutes I knew I was watching something special. Blew my fucking mind. Been on repeat for me ever since. Love you Fred

This set needs to be listened to actively, not passively. I plead with you if you are thinking about sticking this on in the background, don't. Instead, treat it like you would a movie. Sit down and allow yourself to be drawn into each song and truly experience it. You may be taken to places in your mind you had not yet discovered or you have been distant from.

i feel this way SO strongly about this and the other studio live sessions. similarly with some other audiovisual sets i really love. what i WILL say is that fred's sets are some of the best in terms of their ability to deliver a good experience if you're not fully paying attention, as well as if you're giving it your undivided attention. but yea...if i watch this with someone i always give 'em side eyes when they're checking their phone lol 👀

Been following you since your lockdown sessions. My dad died of Bowel Cancer on New Years Eve. Your music never fails to help me express all my emotions simultaneously. Never experienced anything like it mate. I’m 34 and Dad was 64. We drove to the South of France this summer to give him some amazing last memories and I played him all your music on repeat on the journey there and back. I actually feel his music takes us through the full five stages of grief-which really includes every emotion possible when you think about it. For me it’s just the instant flickers from extreme happiness to crippling sadness, each moment lingering over the next somehow. Truly beautiful work. And ever charming, in an Elliott Smith way as best I can compare. Fred rules.

Fred has cracked the code. He figured out how to write joy directly into the soul with his music.

In one hour, I cried, I smiled, I got goosebumps, I cried again, and my body and my mind are now full of energy hope and love. Thank you Fred. I think you are one of a kind

The visuals, subject matter, how he approaches these subjects with tenderness / deepness, and the complexity of what Fred is doing with the equipment and instruments to create these sounds and the Tech he is using, and the London skyline behind him just perfectly sum up what a complex incredibly intelligent species we humans are.

Literally when that came on I got shivers and was like “nah, is that Mike Skinner though?” Absolutely perfect addition to an already amazing song from the album.

As I sit here, in the second day of 2023, I find myself getting into old habits. The old habit of listening to this every single day, and enjoying it as much as I did the first time i listened to it. There's for sure habits I want to lose, but this one is for sure not on that list. Thank you Fred, you made 2022 way better for me, and 2023 will for sure be better alongside you.

Just saw Fred during the craziest tour of Aus and NZ (thanks for doing that Fred, made life very much worth living for a few weeks) so have been listening to these live sets religiously since. They’re amazing. So good I’m finally considering getting KZread premium so I can actually just listen to these non-stop without draining my data 😅 Truely amazing sets and great to watch them come to life through such an energetic and talented person. I was lucky to be a teenager when house and Detroit emerged. At 54, almost 40 years later, I never thought that I would still be into the beats. In recent years, I had a passive interest in keeping up with artists and tracks. But thanks to Fred again..I'm so back into it. Wife and I went out dancing recently.
