Freak Audio Lab - Synapse
Музыка
This tapping melody popped up in my head early one morning as I fiddled around on the guitar, waiting for the coffee to be ready. Inspired, synapses firing, I got to work in my beloved Freak Audio Lab and decided to manifest the theme into some sort of a tune.

The tension in the muscles around my face slowly melts away. My breathing and heart rate slow down and I become more relaxed. I cannot help but feel like things are going to be OK when I listen to this earworm of a tune.
IA. This is gorgeous. Love youuuuuu and the love the music, and to love you is to love the music because you are it and it is you!!! Ahh!!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
All Fridays should start with a cup of coffee and a new tune from IA. Best cure for almost anything!
Thank you Mattias, this went surprisingly well with my morning coffee and the frozen landscape outside! 🤘

Amazing! One of the most memorable and moving melodies I've ever heard. Been a huge fan for the past 20 years. Thank you so much for your recent guest solos with my band (Black Water Sunset). Can't wait to hear more new content! Cheers! 🍺🍻

So pleasant and mind-flying song .. you're the best MAttias 🙂
no se cuántas veces he escuchado esta canción en específico sin cansarme ❤🔥 tiene algo que me impide pasar a la siguiente canción, no la puedo interrumpir una vez escucho los primeros segundos, no entiendo, pero es hermosa ❤🩹
Love it, this is a chilled out tune to loop for any insomnia, so soothing. Always great!!

Nice IA😄👍🍻
Excellent, super melodic and relaxing tune 👌
Mattias you're a genius!
Wow!
Wonderful!
Calms me better than anything. Thank u, sir, for a soundtrack for this day
Eye Aye how Are Ye. That's is so great. I can only think of Jeff Beck had a child and it was a Norse Thunder God. Lol. I really try to bend to the perfect notes guided by what I think that guitar of yours does. It's a long ways from perfection. Besides deciding what effects one might try to get it to sound like that. I mostly play in basics, tones based on very small amount of reverb, delay, a little gain, but seeing how my effects pedal can do all sorts of stuff, I got a lot of experimenting to tweak it till it's awesome like a Thunder God would want. I love your music, it is a shame you aren't in US touring so the masses knew more of your greatness. Cheers merry holidays lightning and all.
Love this song. Love this video. Does Harrold Lloyd appear on this? I can't fully focus cos this music moves me profoundly 💊😀
Wow that was awesome! Unfortunately I had some nasty pizza tonight, but this cheered me right up! haha You have a very unique style
Wonderful IA. Just what I needed a Friday night after a first week at work. Love you and your melodies!
Master piece

Oohhh, new tune from Mattias, great stuff as always! Time to learn some of those tappy licks!
Great Tune !!!
Thank you.
oh shit first commentor. amazing stuff as per usual. Love it!
As usual your guitar sound is so good. I have tried to replicate it but never been able to do it correctly (yet). IA, what is your secret? Is it in your playing, perhaps in the mix or just that you record your stuff in your Freakin Kitchen? :)
Such a good song Mattias🤘Not sure if you're a gamer but I think it would be a perfect fit for a Deus Ex game

Vackert!
Comfortable tune, like some game and chiptune atmosphere mixed. Could you some day make a sort of instructional video about different kinds of tapping related "tricks" (different ways of doing tapping for special effects) and tips on technique and just ideas how to practice them, maybe a composition that takes advantage of them? Your tapping is so fluid and you use so many creative ways, like here tapping the same note but doing quick legato trills on the fretboard hand as an example. I was also recently listening to Michael Romeo stuff and he tends to do a lot of string skipped triplet tapping sequences in place of chord sweeps, like "reverse tapping" I would call it where you climb up in pitch instead of going down and the tapped note being the last on the string, which poses a plethora of technique details you need to learn before you start to sound even half fluid from hammer ons to damping strings differently (he also does this funny thing where at the end of a chromatic lick he slides the pick all across the frets, like pick tapping combined with a slide to finish the chromatic theme and have a weird special effect sound). I mean things like that put together in one place. Ever since Van Halen tapping techniques have evolved so much, multi-finger tapping like Steve Vai's Building the Church's main theme and your completely different world from everything else I've seen and despite youtube being full of guitar lessons, it feels like tapping related videos are still very few. Requesting this more as something to note in the back of the head for a day when you have an inspiration for something like that, I think you have already made at least one tapping instructional video in the past couple of years for musical patterns or similar and I really liked it. To me tapping is one of those techniques that are really easy to learn the basics of and be fast with, but very, very difficult to learn with accuracy, tight rhythm and evolved patterns.

@@mattias_ia_eklundh Awesome! Mini interview opportunity! 1) As you get more and more experienced with music as an artform - appreciating and creating - how does your view of it change? What do you appreciate _more_ now than when you were younger? What aspects of it no longer excite you? 2) With the music you create, would you say you feel more creative, more inspired? When you are calm, cool, rested, at ease, carefree, almost emotionless? Or when you are agitated, excited, full of emotion - either positive or negative? 3) I told you it is a mini interview!

@@GeorgeTsiros Thank you for the mini interview! :) 1) I think it is more fun than ever to write and record music. I wouldn't want to go back a single day because what I know at this time in my life is (obviously) a great deal more than it used to be in terms of arranging, production etcetera plus I have access to so much more stuff to mess around and be creative with. (This may not always be a good thing since you can get lost in sounds alone but I am a disciplined man and rather an executive fellow if I may say so, haha. I finish things and make the necessary decisions along the way). I love it and will do this until I drop dead, even if no one is listening. 2) The more music I write the more music I want to write, yes. Fuel for life. I just finished the guitars; rhythm, solo and decoration, on 11 new Freak Kitchen songs, wrapped up this tune (Synapse), collecting ideas for Freak Guitar Camp 2023 and am working on yet another Freak Audio Lab track to be released in January. It's the best way to frame your days and it keeps me alert and the brain going. Full of positive energy indeed. 3) Yes!
