My best friend and I spent a week in Manchester about five months ago and watched FRASIER almost every morning after waking up. I was like, "We're on vacation, and watching an American TV show..." both of us, of course, being from the U.S. And then, GOGGLEBOX every night before bed. I do miss that show.

Because it is a copy of a season 7 episode from the original! Far less nuanced...there was a reason they couldn't outright talk it through in the original. Here it's just an obvious plot device...

The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT. John 3:18 KJV He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

This act was approaching the level of the original show. The writing was veru nuanced, it developed in stages, there was a great pay out at the end, but the foundation was two strong characters.

  • @mccloaker

I disagree. For starters, June was clearly being indecisive earlier and playing both men. She knew she was there for one guy, but went for the other. In the original show, at some point, someone would've pointed up that obvious point and called her out, and Frasier would've been relieved that for once it wasn't his fault. And secondly, Sioban wasn't *into* Frasier - it was a blind date! This was just cliche sitcom writing, with none of the original series' freshness or observational wit.

I didn’t like Frasier’s behaviour at the end especially since towards the end of Series 11 and so far in Series 12 up until this episode he’s matured and stopped being his womaniser / self saboteur / celebrity / snobby persona. He became his compassionate, kind, vulnerable , wanting to help people persona we all love. I love how Freddie learned the art of Psychiatry from Lilith, Frasier, Niles, Martin, Daphne, Eve and through his job over the last 12 series. Frasier has been hard on him for not going to Harvard, Freddie showing him that you don’t need to degree to read people. In fact you just need to live life, like as a Firefighter working with public. It’s what made Martin such a great character.

(0:28) Is it just me or are there two different types of wallpaper in that entryway? (1:38) "Do I smell Osso Buco?" followed immediately by the exposition is SUPER clumsy. Also, how does she know it's Osso Buco and not just, you know, veal? Can she smell the marrow dissolving? Does he really want to date a woman who knows what dissolving bone marrow SMELLS like from about 100 feet away? I don't mind telling you--I think this is a red flag. (1:44) I really need Frasier to fix his collar. It's that way for 75% of this episode. (1:46) "la-scal-la" is how the Americans pronounce it. People who speak and/or sing there pronounce it "tay-atro al-la sca-la". (3:10) First of all, this conversation isn't happening in real life as Frasier is so wealthy he bought this building on a lark and tossed out the guy in Apartment "A" for funsies. They're not going to be pissed. Second, why is June pissed at Freddy--the guy she was there to meet in the first place? Third, your face, Violetta, is staring into the boundless cleavage of a softball-throwing art passionnée while you bemoan the depths of the male libido. Fourth, Freddy was going to take June out anyway. Why didn't he just--agree--to that upon which he had already decided? And finally, why on Earth is this prima donna, who has known world-renown television personality Frasier Crane for exactly one hallway conversation, flying into a jealous rage?

Sadly, the Fraser re-boot is looking like all 3 atrociously bad, one-note sitcoms that Lucille Ball did after the “I Love Lucy” show, which, like all successful sitcoms was an ensemble effort with 4-5 good actors playing off of one another with good storyline scripts. The result was Lucille Ball doing silly “bits” and trying to be funny all by herself, and failing miserably. Kelsey seems in the same boat here, surrounded by weak actors and weak scripts, trying(way too hard, as with Lucy) to be funny all alone. This is so depressing. But in any event, I’ll keep bingeing all 11 seasons of the original Fraser, and try to forget this sad silliness…🫣🎭😖
