Franklinia Gourd Vase DIY: How to Carve a Dried Gourd and Many More Techniques

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I did relief carving, etching, woodburning, painting, embossing, gold leafing, weaving, and dying on this one gourd that I have designed and named after the rare and beautiful Franklinia tree. I take you through the many steps with photos and video, from start to finish. I was inspired to do this gourd by my dad who once had a Franklinia tree. He spoke highly of it, but the tree died from some unknown cause. I made this gourd for my dad for his birthday and was so happy to see how much he liked what I did. I made sure to take photos and video of the whole process to show him how I made it and to show you how you can incorporate many techniques and embellishments into one gourd. by Bernadette Fox (bernadettesgourdcreations.blog...)

+Quiet Wind I used acrylic paint to color the leaves and flowers. The higher quality paints and pigments definitely make a difference. I used Jo Sonja brand. Lesser quality will be harder to work with because they are often too thin and the color is not very vibrant. Good luck with your project!
