Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Precision Scale with LCD Display
Overall I am pleased with this scale. However, it has a tendency to drift after removing the pan. I have read a few reviews complaining about this issue. However, I noticed that mine basically drifts when hovering the pan just above the scale, maybe ¼” to ½” above it. And it only does this with the plastic pan.
In the following video you can see it. I only have a LED shop light about 3.5 ft above the bench. But this issue occurs with or without the LED light on. My bench is very stable. There was no air movement. I do not have anything plugged in near the bench, except for the scale itself. My cell phone is on the other side of the room. And the nearest Wi-Fi is downstairs.
My plastic pan usually weighs 127.5 gr, but sometimes it shows 127.4 gr. Since the scale only measures to a 0.1 gr accuracy, perhaps it is actually somewhere in between the two.

Maybe static electricity. Try wiping the pan and tray with a dryer sheet or some alcohol.
I think it looks pretty good
Can someone pleas tell me where there is an A at the end of HORNADY ??? ITS not HornaDAY !!!
Have you had any problems with the primer tray that came the the Frankford Arsenal Perfect Seat Hand Primer. My tray wouldn't load the primers. They all just backed up at the mouth of the hand primer. I did discover that the RCBS Hand Priming Tool tray works just fine. Am I the only one with this problem?
Have you had inconsistency? I used the calibration weight to test it after calibration, and each weigh is inconsistent, as well as drift without plastic near it. Is it cheap, or just very sensitive? Anything better out there?
These scales are so sensitive that the slightest bit of air, such as your hand movements above the scale will show up. 1/10th of a grain is a very minute amount so the slightest movement right above the scale will be read. Air is always moving in the room whether you can tell it or not, and your hand movement causes a disturbance when you put the pan on or take it off the scale. Just set the pan on the scale and move your hand away and see if it fluctuates or has a constant weight reading. Remember, there is always a + & - tolerance on the accuracy of all scales.
How's this scale been working since this video???
Air pressure ?
I would probably rely much more on the none digital scales, even though obviously we want the quickness of the digital scales. If you have a very accurate powder dispenser, once you have the dispenser set to the desired weight, u are or should be checking every tenth load or so to check. At least thats what I would do. Good video
Hi from Australia. I know this video is three years old, but just wondering if the little spoon style scoop came with the scales or did you already have them?
wipe down the plastic powder pan with a dryer sheet . static is making it do that . i wipe down all plastic stuff before reloading .
if its zeroed with the pan on and you add powder, pick it up shake it slightly and place it back on it should be the true reading as long as the same pan is being used
Wind from hand movement. Get a Redding balance not as fast but so much more accurate. Good idea to have check weights on hand. Not calibrated weights. Check weights after it’s been calibrated. if you’re going to go digital. And don’t handle them bare handed.
Scales are extremely sensitive. Your drift is caused by air current fluctuations above the meter pan. Use plastic twizzers to handle your weights!
Can I weight gold with this scale..
Drift might be static electricity. Plastic does that. That's the only force being near it you and your body could give off. Unless you're developing super powers !
It appears that it senses air movement or air pressure cause it's so sensitive. And yes, air movement has some weight to it in motion. Do you also have a fan running in the room? Either that or you have a shitty camera.

Every scale has a + or - % of accuracy. Every one!! The sensitivity of the plate will move if you breath on it.
Scales need to be in an enclosed area such as a case around it .This is to prevent induced unwanted air currents.
All matters is you have a redundant zero when you placed the metal powder pan every single time and the 50/100 g calibration readings was perfect, whatever it do or dont when you remove the metal powder pan is irrelevant because every time you put it back on it boom! zero. Works as intended.
You need to let it sit for a second and settle in.
