I bought the French editions a week before they announced the Kickstarter for these... Gorgeous books both Frankenstein and Dracula.

Oh man, I wish I could read in other languages so I wouldn't have to wait for English translations!
I always thought The Mummy with Boris Karloff was cool and scary. Dracula with Bela Lugosi is legendzry too. There’s a very cool graphic novel about Lugosi’s life out now but I haven’t read it yet. Yesterday I got Beatrice by Joris Mertens. His book before Bleach. There is no text in the book just his awsome atmospheric art. An absolute gem. I am very glad to finally have it. Thanks for the overview, Mitch. I am going to check this one out. 👍🏻

VERY.
One of the best book to graphic novel adaptations. It feels so incredibly human, touches you on a deep emotional level, just like the original novel. Nowhere near that... thing Junji Ito did.

I haven't read Ito's version, but yeah, I think this is now my definitive version of Frankenstein. It is SO. FREAKING. GOOD.

@@Omnibuddy Same. Ito's adaptation lacks all the nuances of the original, it's just plain horror, which Frankenstein never was. The art is fine, some of the designs are awesome, but this is just not what Frankenstein is about. There is no landscapes, no lonely travels, no atmosphere, no philosophy, Adam lacks the humanity and is just a generic horror monster with a twist. It's just painfully basic.

@@flammifer451 Oh dang, yeah, I imagine it's tempting to get sucked into exploring the horror side of things, but that's not the point of Frankenstein!
