Frankel's half-brother KIKKULI wins impressively at Newmarket for Harry Charlton

Expectations were always likely to be high for Frankel's little brother, but the Harry Charlton-trained colt showed some of his sibling's fighting spirit as he got off the mark for the season at Newmarket's Craven meeting.
Kikkuli ensured a notable family line and famous silks returned to the winner’s enclosure by claiming the Alex Scott Maiden Stakes in promising fashion.
The colt shed his maiden tag with a gutsy performance during the seven-furlong contest in the green and pink colours of Juddmonte Farms in the hands of Ryan Moore.
He was placed in midfield for much of the race, where Manhattan Mirage flew into a huge lead but quickly weakened, before Moore found a gap for Kikkuli to power through.
Market leader Creative Story threatened to spoil the party by getting his nose in front at one point, but Kikkuli fought back to regain the lead and prevailed by a neck at 5-2, as he built on his encouraging debut last year with a first success.

@@nightowl7459 He's learning his trade. It was also only his second run and they can't all be world beaters. How many horses have you seen win impressively and then do nothing after? Give him some time and then we'll see what he has in his locker.

@@nightowl7459 We should be immune to clickbait by now but I take your point. Think he was tough, went through with a challenge between horses many would have shied from and it took a while for the penny to drop. Maybe we'll get the brilliance with less wind better ground. Might prove a good race to watch the first 4 from.
He actually has THE SAME action as The Mighty Frankel! This trip is his minimum, he'll be much better at longer distances. Still very green.

The fourth horse Mount Teide, was given a very easy ride here. I would think he'd be the one to take from the race going forward.

The season has just started and when Moore is in front on a horse he doesn’t get caught. Looks a good season ahead.

I know how much you like to make catching titles and throw in the name of Frankel, but there were 4 horses on a line and they could not even be good for the merry go round..

Ran as green as grass but knuckled down well and never in danger of being passed. Should be a decent race in him later in the season, Cambridgeshire maybe.

This has to be fxed. The lies that are told about horse's not being able to stay is ridiculous and someone needs to write a definitive guideline on how this conclusion is reached.

IMPRESSIVE WIN? If that was impressive then I must be the world's faster 100 metres sprinter. I can do a Hundred metres in 1 minute and 8 seconds.
...Thought the horse travelled well into the race, hung like a barge just before the dip and won going away. Not a Frankel performance. Already looks like a middle distance horse.

Clueless Lewis is still around I see. Talking about knowledge ,Clueless is the one who called Ace Impact a yak after he won the French Derby .This horse went on to win the Arc and was voted the European horse of the year. Clueless also told a barefaced lie about Aidan O Brien following the performance of August Rodin in the King George at Ascot and wasn’t man enough to admit it. Now that the flat season is kicking in just watch him hammering the likes of Appleby and the Gosdens when one of their fancied horses gets beaten. When a fancied Ballydoyle horse gets beaten he will just disappear from sight.
I'll wait until his next run to see if he improves again that wasn't that impressive
