I also listened to all the other so called " Morally dangerous" bands of the 70's up until today and never have I ever done anything wrong as far as what types of morally repugnant activity that Tipper Gore and the PMRC claimed that it would cause. I started listening to Alice Cooper and Frank Zappa at an early age 12 and they have only made me a smarter person if anything.

Maaaaybe some parents would rather their children NOT be influenced by some New Testament dribble that some priests came up with LONG after the "alleged" Jesus walked around preaching Christian rhetoric... It's because ppl are uneducated and don't know or understand history enough to know that most of the Bible has been proven NOT to be historically accurate with other events that took place proving it UNREAL. Wow, I feel old. This was going on when I was in 7th grade. Don Imus hit it on the head though. Most of the really controversial lyrics they were talking about were from obscure bands. My health teacher decided to jump on this bandwagon and put on a presentation for our class about the dangers of music. I was introduced to bands like 'The Mentors' and 'WASP'. Two bands I never even heard of. I went to the record store the next day to look for the albums.

Here's an idea. Let children see and here whatever. If they are too young to understand, they won't get it anyway. If they are old enough to understand, they are already old enough to understand. Teach kids instead of dropping them off at some daycare or babysitter and you wouldn't need some rating system. But Zappa was too smart for imbeciles. Donny was right, also. Rating them just put flashing neon signs that said HEY, this one is going to be HOT!

I personally agree with him, as I feel it is important for kids to form their taste in music early in their lives. If you actually read the comment all the way through he literally said "Teach kids instead of dropping them off at some daycare or babysitter". What he said only pertains to music, not to parenting as a whole.
