This man put in more time to master the guitar than any other guitarist in the world. His odometer has over 1,000,000,000 miles. A Canadian Icon. Love you Frank!
Frank is such an Iconic guitarist. Does not have many peers
It's a sheer bad luck for all of us fans that this guitar god didn't get the recognition he truly and richly deserved. So underrated it's a crime in rock industry.

what recognition? He’s recognized by a lot of guys and has boatloads of fans, some guys like zakk wylde even sing his praises. if you are talking in terms of success thats his own fault because they guy wasnt exactly known for his song writing talent and on top of that the cover songs and whole hendrix vibe didnt help either

Frank was / is an improviser, but did compose some great music. His live playing from this century is jaw-dropping, 3 or more hours of improvised jam, it's not instant gratification, a person needs an attention span to keep up and stay with it. Check out this unique jam - kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5Nsj8uGade1pJc.htmlsi=h1ketVUjeJ1cTQsr&t=4017

@@michaelcraig9449 frank doesnt have songs, frank has long musical journeys and trips he takes you on, the closest he’s got to songs were juggernaut & strange dreams. Stevie somehow got famous by playing blues and being a throw back during a time where guys weren’t doing that, he also had a body of songs and work that could get him on the radio and lets be honest most of stevies blues songs of his were like pop songs. Yea stevie also did the hendrix thing, but unlike frank in the 70s stevie didnt make it his whole identity and he didnt have a story attached to him about the ghost of jimi hendrix
One of the most underrated guitarist but One of the best
I enjoyed attending his stop in Indianapolis with that great band! I loved every minute and I still remember it a lifetime ago. We had awesome music back then!
Frank is a real gem.... I never tire of his playing..... it's for real!!! ….and the original Mahogany Rush were awesome as well.... You'll never see stuff like this on TV ever these days..... not here in Australia anyway...
Pop a cold "Brador" put Chom FM on the stereo and I'm back in Montreal in 78 !!
Saw Frank Marino at the Heavy Metal Holocaust in England, 1978. Tore it up. Plays with so much emotion. The reason he's so under-rated is he's a Hendrix disciple.

@@jonholland6067he may be similar to johnny (and alvin lee) as a soloist especially when he goes warp speed with the pentatonic stuff, but the hendrix thing is there big time and is noticeable with his rhythm stuff
😎 Cool. I used to listen to MR years ago, and I have a new found appreciation for their music today. Relevant and refreshing. 🔥👏👊

GUITAR PLAYER LIKE THIS GUY..JUST GREAT STUFF😊
You hear that funky beat on Dragonfly ~ Folks that is the real Frank Marino sound !
Saw Frank at a little club called the strand in Redondo beach CA. Still can't hear a friggin thing. But it was worth it! ROCK and ROLL!
I have seen and heard many great guitarists since the 1960s. I have recently taken a closer look at some of the styles that have influenced me. Frank is in the top 10 by far. So many techniques and range of styles I am amazed. Recently, I had the pleasure of listening to his Agora compilation. Nice jazz, blues techniques.
I seen Frank Marino 4 times the first time was for two cans of food for charity to get in and that was I believe 77 maybe 75 at Chippewa lake Ohio I was right in front of Frank and the stage was maybe 3 or 4 ft. off the ground , so I was like 15 and I was totally mesmerized ! The other times were all in Cleveland , and so I've been a fan ever since and till this day he's my favorite guitar player , and believe me I've seen a lot of great one's ! For all who have never seen him and even to those that have I totally recommend the live DVD ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ at the Cleveland Agora it's worth every penny you will not be disappointed HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !
Saw him this tour tear up the cap center landover md. Dropped a tab of red dragon. Mind blowing gig.
Still floors me........................they were at the top of their game here.
I'm just now discovering this and last night it was robin trowers and the night before it was quicksilver messenger service!!!!! Dude these bands are completely overlooked and within a couple minutes of listening I was like "" DUUUUDE!!! THIS IS SOME VERY BADASS MATERIAL being pumped out here !!!!! His Blues vocals are at the TOP OF THE PACK. See: Johnny Winter. His guitar is just so fucking incredible that he rests with the gods. What else can I say?
So underrated and amazing band!
Extraordinaire guitariste tout simplement un des meilleurs du monde et numéro 1 pour moi

I saw that tour. Amazing times.
Frank has loads of talent and guitar innovation.. I got introduced to his music with Uli Jon Roth's 2002 Legends of Rock Tour..Hearing but not seeing him was magic..Strange Universe...he also played with Glenn Hughes in the UK during that tour..So good.
Paul Gilbert really channels this guy in groove and vocal. Even the chorus FX on his guitar.
Harold, it wasn't a commercial video I had, I recorded it off of TVOntario. TVO would broadcast french programming on sundays back in those days. Having seen it once before, I was ready with a blank tape when I saw it was going to be on again a year later. The show was also simulcast on TVOs radio channel, so I also got an audio cassette version for my walkman.
I used to have this concert on VHS until I loaned it out and never got it back again. Thanks for posting it.

I must have listened to King Bee - Back Door Man - All Along The Watchtower - Poppy from this concert over 100 times and it still floors me and Franks turnarounds during King Bee / Back Door Man are my faves! btw - On All Along The Watchtower and Poppy is that a "dot" neck I see on a Les Paul SG or early SG Standard? The pickups are PAFs or early "PATENT NO 2,737,842"s not P-90s. Does anyone have any info on this guitar? SG Specials had "dot" necks and P-90s.

I saw Frank 3 times in the late 80's and once in the early 90's. His performances were not like this at all. More toned down, and he had that short haircut back then. He looks pretty wild here.
