Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This house design was inspired by the Hollyhock House in Los Angeles, California by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. There's a total of 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, and 1 half bathroom as well as an in-ground pool, 2 private gardens, and 2 offices.

I’ll always give a Frank Lloyd Wright home a thumbs up. Thanks for showing one in a warmer climate, I’m used to the ones up north.

Glad you enjoyed it! It was interesting to see one of FLW’s house designs in a warmer climate because the interior had a similar aesthetic and layout to the ones in a colder climate. The exterior is where there were lots of differences in materials and form

I enjoy your artwork. Would you do a design for a tiny luxury courtyard house? Is that possible?

Great question! I designed and shared a single story courtyard house with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 3 small courtyards. You can check out the design here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iI5nrpiyZ5mxqLg.html

I see many of his houses everyday I live near his studio. This design there's no light management in the rooms the windows are sized and placed like a spec house look again at FLW houses and the relationships of light and shadows, roof overhangs and the day/seasonal light effects on placement at the building site as well as vertical space management for light. Gables like these are not something his houses have. Roman brick is only one material element he also used limestone extensively. Dining rooms were very special spaces almost like sanctuaries not one big space like this design. The outdoor space is nice the flyover looks like this design is for an urban/suburban house on 1/2 acre. For a modest home on a small site look at his Robie House design.

Great points and I agree with most of them. I've been to the Robie house before and it was a great experience. For dining rooms, I disagree that all of FLW's home designs had a sanctuary like space. For example, Hollyhock House in Los Angeles, CA was tucked to the side of the stairs leading to the 2nd floor and it felt like it was part of open space leading to the kitchen. I agree that this house design seems to be more of a spec house design and that was intentional; albeit it sounds as if the criticism here is that it could've been done better and/or differently. I appreciate your feedback and I have a lot more to learn about his design style. Hopefully, my next FLW inspired house design considers the points you and others have made!

Unfortunately, you missed key principles of Wright's horizontality by using gable end roofs, as well as, the punched windows in the courtyard. You did not flow the exterior materials into the interior, nor employed a unit system either horizontally nor vertically...so NO, you did not be faithfully and honestly inspired by Wright's work. Sorry.

Great points. Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad there are people as knowledgeable as you are in knowing the history and principles behind FLW's designs!
