@ 4:20 - IIRC, Jimmy Carter's net worth decreased after is term of office was completed. His peanut farm in Georgia had been placed in a blind trust and was over $1million in debt.

How people could have no empathy for Nixon is cruel. He was our president. He’s human in the biggest of all jobs. To resign must have been quite a load to carry. Your whole life’s work gone and replaced with public ridicule and shame from the public he once served. I’m sure he blocked it out. He should stand tall tho. He’s human like us all.

Great interviews, on substance. But the tech crew is absolutely disastrous, throughout the whole series! Even Nixon himself comments, how ridiculously annoying they are.

I quit watching this interesting interview because someone is cutting off parts of it...whoever in intel agencies or in conunction with mass media controls such must have read and wanted to be the fascist characters in that book. We get to only see/hear what they dish out. Truth is their enemy and the facts must never be known.

Let’s just say that Nixon didn’t make any friends in the intelligence community and the Military Industrial Complex pulling the U.S. out of Vietnam and leave it at that.

I absolutely agree w Nixons sentiments about the media. But once Watergate was out there it was going to be bad. That I understand because the public can’t knowingly look away. Nixons efforts to stop the bleeding weren’t enough. The coverup became worse than the crime. I don’t think he should’ve been impeached. He should’ve faced the public, admit what he had to and move on. Human psychology is so odd to me. Now that Nixon has been labeled, people don’t know or think of his presidency as a whole. Everyone has something that they dont want people to know. And once people know, they look at you differently. Nixon should be evaluated on how well he performed his job. He was an above average President and extremely effective. Nixon was going to win the 2nd election regardless of watergate. The shame is he didn’t need it. But what happened was that Nixon has been attacked his whole career by the left media. He has developed an itchy trigger finger. Unlike the democrats, conservatives can’t count on the media for any oppo research and exploitation. Politics is a nasty business and only fools think Nixons campaign was the only one who played rough.
