And if he cared about people other than himself and if he was an involved father and wasn’t entitled. Yes in his own we he loves them. But love isn’t always enough. I think he actually loved them much more than Monica ever did. And I think he loved Monica more than she ever loved him. And whenever Monica dropped in his was just as mad as the other Gallagher’s- “haven’t you ruined my life enough?” But he always falls under her spell and she’s so good at manipulating him.

Watching all these clips together shows that if frank wasn’t a addict and if he didn’t meet Monica and he did go to college he would have been s great father

actually he could accepted his mistakes and started doing something for and by himself. I love Frank but can't talk about it as if he didn't have a choice. There are many drunks out there that have recovered and became the people they wanted to be, and Frank didn't

Frank is similar to my dad , and that makes me tear up. we had good & bad days, even that i still love him.

Frank is good. He trys but loses his way. He protected his family and even wanted to witness the birth of Franny. Frank would be a great dad.

It's amazing how you've captured in a single video the best side of Frank Gallagher. May many people hate him for being a bad father, but you can not be something you've never had. I'm sure Frank really loves his kids, but he's so broken inside that he's not able to prove it. I have to say that the work as actor of William H. Macy for this one and many other roles, is truly Oscar material♥️

Yeah for real, franks own parents treated him like dog shit and abused him as a kid, but frank was a really smart guy, just didn’t have a good enough upbringing, lip and the rest need to give him a break because frank gave them a better upbringing than what he had.

I agree and disagree. Obviously going through such awful abuse effects people, and statistically those that are abused do end up being some type of abuser themselves or become emotionally detached to the point where they have a hard time seeing past their own needs ...but I've also had friends who were raised in some of the worst conditions and turned out to be amazing parents, because they used their own childhoods as references for what they don't want for their kids. There has to be a point where excuses are seen just as they are, excuses. But Frank is definitely the example of a morally grey, complex character- he loves his kids but he loves his booze and drugs a little more.

Frank is a good guy. He just happens to be broken beyond repair

It's funny. Despite being the ones who argue the most, Frank clearly loves Fiona the most and is proud of her and truly does appreciate her, his addiction just will never let him say it. I also think that Fiona is probably one of the few people who does in someways love Frank as well. Yes, she hates him as well but she also cared for him religiously along with the kids.

Everyone who hates Frank needs to remember. He stayed, Monica left. She left Fiona, Lip, Ian, Debbie, Carl, and Liam. But Frank was always there. He never left the Gallaghers. He would never leave his kids because that's his family, their his home. He loves them too much to leave them.

I am one year late but just wanted to say (as a person that hates frank) that sometimes leaving is better than staying and sure Monica left and Fiona was doing fine without her but she still needed to take care of Frank and all the shitty, dangerous actions he did. IMO they would be less fucked up without him and his influence on them especially the kids that were taking him seriously and believed in everything he said. Honestly it was so sad for me seeing debby with so much love for her dad being left out with nothing but disrespect

wow i haven't seen a video like this about frank. this is wonderful. most of us see him as a selfish degenerate but this makes us see him in a completely different light.

I had a dad like Frank. He died a couple years ago due to his alcoholism and I still feel so much anger towards him but cannot help but pity him. I know he was a good man deep down but his addiction broke him.

Just finished the series..... seeing Frank die at the end made me cry like a little baby. I wasn't expecting it to turn like this. I just love Frank just the way he is....

Frank is alot like me I can see how I could easily go down the same road I'm smart but I put myself down more then I got alot of guilt and idk I can lie easily I got alot of stuff to hide stuff people will never know about I don't want people to know it only cried 3 times in like 10 years I know that there's something inside an emotion trying to claw it's way out but it won't it start to scratch more when I'm really stressed so I can see how frank might have so much guilt by now that it crushes him you see it sometimes the guilt coming in but he holds it back

Alright, well it gets emotional quite a bit for different characters in different seasons.. it's hard to say without giving much away, but pretty much every character has emotional stories.

People forget cuz it gets so absurd and funny at times but Frank Gallagher is one of the most tragic tv characters ever I consider the end of the show season 7 finale and the episode where Fiona leaves as a epilogue wasn’t a fan of 8-11 but Frank was extremely smart till he met Monica

its hard to change when everyone expects you to not be able to.

Why I relate to this show so much is because my parents are exactly like frank and Monica exactly the same have 8 sibling ages 30 sum,18,15,14,13,12,11,1 I lost 6 siblings because of them have had 4 dads 5 moms I know what it’s like and what they go through that’s why I love this show so damn much

at times frank still tried to do the right thing, and that's why he is one of my favorite characters

I feel this I drink all the time and its killing me self inflicted we all got to go sometime

his trauma isn’t a excuse for his actions but it is a reason behind them. Frank isn’t a bad person, he loves them. Just not in the way they deserved to be loved.

Sometimes when Frank does something good for the family and shows that he cares about his children and loves them, I just think that if Monica took her pills and Frank didn't drink because of her, they would be great parents, and it's so sad. yes that's the point of the whole show but it's such a realistic show and it makes me cry

Even tho is a drunk but he also a good person and he has a heart loves his family so much more then they think and he can be good the people he dated and he loves them all so much. All the kids he loved them till death and they didn’t care
