Marchessault too risky of a signing with his age and the money and term he'd want

They already spent $94 million on a single player, no money for the Vegas ace, unless Elon Musk buys the team 😆

Hopefully someone will throw an offer sheet to Hronek for the amount he's requesting. if it's $8.6/year, then it's 2 x 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd. Good draft capital to use to get rid of Ilya Mikheyev. Sufficient money left over to sign Myers for cheap, Zadorov for a "fair" deal, maybe getting Chris Tanev back for some sunset contract, and maybe enough to keep Blueger and Joshua. Might need to decide on whether to keep Garland and hoping prospects like Raty, Karlsson, Podkolzin, or Lekkerimaki can make the jump to be NHLers.

Hronek's numbers were inflated by Hughes. He will be far less effective without him.

Shots on goal can be deceiving in the Playoffs . They can be a Weapon . Unknown Goalies can Kill you if you take a lot of shots and they Stop them . If you wait for Quality Opportunities you may be Successful . Scotty Bowman watched this like a Hawk . It was a Guess . So you have a 50/50 . Rick Tocchet played , worked and learned from Scotty . If we went on to Win it All . What would our Cap Look Like ? Canucks are in a pretty good place right now . There are Challenges ahead . I think our Tottal Package can Succeed .

THIS TOPIC is exactly what is the #1 of what's going to keep the Canucks moving forward or falling backwards... this season could be a foundation or a blip if roster management isn't done right... we've gone through the albatross contracts and I think cap fluidity is the only thing that can keep the Canucks moving forward... can't be handcuffed by contracts... if it makes sense... do it... if not... bye bye 👋

Didn't put up any more points than when he was with Detroit and that's playing with a star in Hughes! Factor in his mediocre defense and he is totally replaceable with Tanev at half the cost!

They played a more defensive style after the all star break. As good as Silovs played, they changed their style after Demko got hurt in the regular season. They played a defensive game instead of an attacking style. It was after they let in 10 against the Wild.

Yes US teams do have a significant advantage, it’s math. The states charge less taxes therefore players would rather be in the States. They’d be stupid not to. Adjust the salary cap to be numerically the same end result and let’s see what happens

Canadian players already get paid in US dollars, we have a European soccer mentality where one or two players get all the money and the rest have to make due with much less and are expected to perform similarly, more the US also has higher taxes where do they their military industrial complex gets their trillions from!!

There is resilience, then there is third string goalie, star players hurt, top goal scorer out, season exceeded my expectations. Very happy and looking forward to next year. Bonus, both the Maple Leafs and Blue Jay's are awful.

Nucks have no choice but hope Mik rebounds next year. That being said, Petey needs a very skilled winger. JT has Brock...so Petey deserves similar. Please dont say slow ass Toffolli. Also, the Nucks messed up paying Garland 5 million. You shouldnt be paying anyone 5 million to play on the 3rd line. So why not move Garland up with Petey and rework the 3rd line? When you are paying Petey 11.6 its more important that he is going than a 3rd line.

They are going to lose several of their top performers from this year and the poor play of Peterson because of his minor injuries will kill this team going forward. Throw in the wild card of Boeser and not knowing if he is going to play next year or not, in time to replace him means Vancouver will be very lucky to make the playoffs next year. It doesn't look like Big Z, Lindy, Cole, Hronek and most likely Joshua will be back next year. Most likely Boeser will be a no show just before the season starts and Petey will be crappy again next year unless he gets healthy and/or gets the correct brain training before the next season starts. Long story short, they need to trade Petey as his contract has the potential to set this team back another 10 years of no playoff hockey. You never know though this management has put one hell of a team together for this season, but the inexperience of the team really showed and was the reason they were bounced. They didn't really get beat they beat themselves. They had a little too much focus on playing defense and not on forechecking. Still a pretty fun season and they pretty much did what i expected them to do. The way i see it, it is all down hill from here unless they trade Petey.
