2K22! Still giving Blessings to Franco TP( T.P. Tout Puissant, french) meaning, All-Powerful, Omnipotent!
I remember like yesterday about 35 years ago; I learnt to sing the whole of this song despite a foreign language ; in 1989 when I was in A level, in Kilimanjaro Dom, I heard the death of Franco through the neighborhood dinning Hall radio. The way I cried like a small child!!!!. This music was then played in all radio channels like a national Anthem for a whole week. Every time I listen to this song Kimpa Kisanga Meni I get a different taste. I have never gotten enough of Franco's music. We should be forming a Global Franco Association.

Just recently lost my father and listening to Franco makes me feel reconnected. he was a great fan of Franco. people would ask me that you look young to listen to such. For me it's my connection with my dad through such great people like Franco. Long live my father's best music and i will always love him and Franco keeps the fire and love within me! Christmas time in Zambia was mostly punctuated by Franco songs for those of us who grew up in Lusaka, Kabwata -Zambia

2024 na mimi ni kijana .. this is on another level
Franco is undoubtedly one of, if not the best rhumba musician of all time. Growing up in Zambia 🇿🇲 I still remember my father enjoying his music 🎶

The bass in this track, and Franco's 'wailing' guitar in the background endures to this day. Franco's 'wailing' lead guitar would be called 'guitar inapiga nduru' I give it up for the bassist, Franco's lead guitar, and the percussionist. That was a powerful collaboration. I wish there was a video of them recording this in the studio.

Franco Luambo Makiadi. Nothing to add here folks. A maestro.
This song reminds me when I was in class six at mwachande primary school, we used to sing it Ali, Paul and me. I have really searched for this song. That was in 2001
Kimpa Kisangameni (1983) Done in Franco’s native Kikongo, it starts with heavy Mpundi Decca bass guitar (like it was with Jackie in 1978) punctuated with a mournful husky voice of Franco. Kimpa Kisangameni means charms planted on the roof of a house and Franco is telling his mother to see the charms that enemies have brought to kill him. He says his brother Bavon Marie Marie (died in 1970 in a car crash) was killed by sorcerers.

La musique est l'un des remèdes qui nous aident à tenir durant un deuil. Hii wimbo ya Luambo ni dawa ya kujisaidia katika maajabu kama kilio. Mziki ni dawa kwa sisi sote. These were our kings, with them living Africa should have been bigger than China....
