I first heard Franco Corelli in 1966 when I was 12. I've gotten into a lot of other singers and different styles of music over the years, but his voice still haunts me. It's the most thrilling sound in the universe. And he was so handsome too. I wish I could've seen him perform. But we have youtube, thank God!

The most important thing to remember is that Corelli sang deeply from the heart. Everythign else added to that fact. He sang with a lot of emotion

Esiste un solo Corelli... unico irripetibile.. ascoltarlo è una emozione unica. Scandisce tutte le parole con un accento che nobilita anche l'edizione in lingua italiana. Beautiful rendition of the flower arial. Fantastic voice, brilliant acting. Draws one into the emotion of the aria. Ihave listened to all the great tenors from Caruso, Gigli, Bjiorling. They all offer so much and there are many more I could mention. One I would like to mention for unique voice quality is Mario Lanza. Yet having now listened to a catalogue of Corelli's arias and songs I rate him as the gtreatest of them all.

Ci sono certe interpretazioni di Corelli che veramente sono incommentabili. E' talmente grande interprete che non ti lascia parole. Oltretutto ha una recitazione molto intensa e teatrale, ma riesce egualmente ad essere vero e sincero, senza alcun narcisismo o esibizionismo. Si potrebbero citare tutti i più grandi tenori del '900, ma ognuno la cederebbe in qualcosa a Corelli. Lui era veramente l'unico e il solo con tutti 10 e lode in pagella.

Can’t copy the greats if you don’t have a strong chest voice threaded throughout your entire vocal range. Voce ingolata won’t cut it, and it doesn’t effect you like singing properly does.

This scene reminds me of a boy from 6th grade. He stood outside my house on Valentine's Day to give me a bag of candy and a hand-written card that said, "Would you be my girlfriend?" He was too shy to say anything and had brought along his buddy to stand next to him and support him, which I thought was kinda funny. His hand was trembling when he handed me the candies. What a sweet memory! I had known him since 4th grade, but in 6th grade he was tall and quite mature for his age.. Gosh he trembled so much before me... I can never forget him. Maybe if he'd had a voice like Mr. Franco Corelli I could have loved him forever😂. But we were too young. God bless his soul. And God definitely blessed Maestro Franco Corelli. 💕

Aunque la ópera Carmen fue originalmente escrita en francés por Georges Bizet, por lo visto en este video también se hizo una transcripción en italiano, y en esta como en todas las que interpretó durante su vida, el tenor Franco Corelli hace una verdadera romanza del Aria de la Flor, donde ratifica toda su maestría y dominio del fraseo, la respiración y la colocación de las notas, así como de los contrastes que demandaba cantarla siguiendo los requerimientos del compositor. Sus agudos fortísimos, limpios y sin rastrilleo, fueron el sello inconfundible de una voz que arrancó aplausos en todos los escenarios donde cantó.

I’m 68 yo, Corelli is also my heartthrob. The Romanza of Tosca is my favorite.
The diminuendo at 1:25 is godly. No one I have heard can match this or even tries. It is what makes this whole aria perfect and Corelli the ultimate master.
In my opinion, he was simply the best, better than all the rest!👌🏻🌹😃

Amusant... G Thill et Corelli sont les 2 ténors que j'admire et écoute le plus! Thill incomparable en français, Corelli au dessus de tout en italien, répertoire romantique.

Beautiful rendition of the flower arial. Fantastic voice, brilliant acting. Draws one into the emotion of the aria. Ihave listened to all the great tenors from Caruso, Gigli, Bjiorling. They all offer so much and there are many more I could mention. One I would like to mention for unique voice quality is Mario Lanza. Yet having now listened to a catalogue of Corelli's arias and songs I rate him as the gtreatest of them all.

Very few tenors can really imbue the area wit the beauty and the emotion it was written for. Corelli perhaps the greatest here.

Ci sono certe interpretazioni di Corelli che veramente sono incommentabili. E' talmente grande interprete che non ti lascia parole. Oltretutto ha una recitazione molto intensa e teatrale, ma riesce egualmente ad essere vero e sincero, senza alcun narcisismo o esibizionismo. Si potrebbero citare tutti i più grandi tenori del '900, ma ognuno la cederebbe in qualcosa a Corelli. Lui era veramente l'unico e il solo con tutti 10 e lode in pagella.

Can’t copy the greats if you don’t have a strong chest voice threaded throughout your entire vocal range. Voce ingolata won’t cut it, and it doesn’t effect you like singing properly does.

That is the beauty of bel canto singing. No experience is required to be a good judge or critic. There is a visceral reaction that one undergoes when hearing bel canto singing.
One of my most favoirte tenors of all times. His Tosca is the best to me. This recording is in Italian while the original was written in French. It is my first time to hear this in Italian. Thank you for posting it.

This scene reminds me of a boy from 6th grade. He stood outside my house on Valentine's Day to give me a bag of candy and a hand-written card that said, "Would you be my girlfriend?" He was too shy to say anything and had brought along his buddy to stand next to him and support him, which I thought was kinda funny. His hand was trembling when he handed me the candies. What a sweet memory! I had known him since 4th grade, but in 6th grade he was tall and quite mature for his age.. Gosh he trembled so much before me... I can never forget him. Maybe if he'd had a voice like Mr. Franco Corelli I could have loved him forever😂. But we were too young. God bless his soul. And God definitely blessed Maestro Franco Corelli. 💕
Aunque la ópera Carmen fue originalmente escrita en francés por Georges Bizet, por lo visto en este video también se hizo una transcripción en italiano, y en esta como en todas las que interpretó durante su vida, el tenor Franco Corelli hace una verdadera romanza del Aria de la Flor, donde ratifica toda su maestría y dominio del fraseo, la respiración y la colocación de las notas, así como de los contrastes que demandaba cantarla siguiendo los requerimientos del compositor. Sus agudos fortísimos, limpios y sin rastrilleo, fueron el sello inconfundible de una voz que arrancó aplausos en todos los escenarios donde cantó.

Couldn't agree with you Corelli is fantastic Don Jose, superb voice throughout his range, emotional performance, acted the role well and so handsome too.Franco really had it all, fortunately for Jonas Kaufmann, he doesn't have to compete with Franco Corelli.I am a great admirer of Jonas one of the best tenors currently singing.
OH! the way he sings that last line! be still my beating heart.
