Dana White has it both ways. In Boxing, fighters have no health insurance, etc. But they fight who they want, when they want, and for the price they agree to. They're independent contractors. In the UFC, Dana White decides when and who they fight for chump change. They're employees of the UFC. The very least the UFC can do is give those fighters health insurance, 401K, and everything else associated with a 9-5 job. Ngannou will make more money in one night fighting Jake Paul than his entire UFC career. That's sad!

The healthcare point is ridiculous. They pay for all the care related to any issues or injuries arising in training or fights. If you know how the UFC works, you know that the roster changes constantly- some people are signed on short notice for one fight and don't have any long term deal, some for 3 fights, and some have 8-fight contracts. Do you have any clue how much it would cost to provide full coverage insurance to that many people who are *guaranteed* to be hurt multiple times per year? The rates would be astronomical.

@@a9029kDid you watch the interview? Go to 6:00 and you can see how the fighters do not get covered during training, just for injuries in fights. And to your other point, make it so that once they have a contract with a minimum amount of fights, they get covered. There is no excuse for how cheap Dana is with UFC fighters, it is appalling.
