Francesco Landini: "Ecco la primavera"
One of our first recordings!
The 14th-century hit "Ecco la primavera" is a lovely isorhythmic duet extolling spring and love.

Belle interprétation de cette page de Landini qui par sa fraîcheur toute spontanée nous ramène dans ces temps premiers du moyen-âge dont les jeunes interprètes témoignent avec de simples moyens de ce retour vers une Nature pure et spirituelle!
It is springtime whenever this music is played.
A very nice performance of this "hit" from the 14th century.
Beautiful voices, wonderful performance.
Brilliant! I stayed in my car to hear this and got further behind in line as a result and it was totally worth it.
i don't know why, but i just cried listening this...
Just because you only have 733 likes doesn't mean you don't know what you are doing. Excellent work people!

I've heard many renditions of this ballata over several decades and this is one of the best. Thanks for posting.

I found your group while playing pentiment and being moved to tears by your rendition of "Ellend, du hast umfangen mich", titled "Sic arsit historia kiersis" in the game ... Fantastic job, thank you for your passionate interpretations of all this wonderful music.

Thank you! We also love that tune - it is so haunting.
MEU DEUS!
Bravi !!!
Bravo!!❤
Fantastico!!!!
The, dare I say, definitive version of this is by David Munrow and the Early Music Consort of London. Ten times more energy than this, which I do like!
Absolutely beautiful!
Very interesting and beautifully done. Thank you!
Outstanding!!! I can't wait to share this with my Music Appreciation class!!!

what is the name of that 5-stringed instrument which is hold vertically?
@Alkemie
5 жыл бұрын
Both string instruments here are 5-string vieles. In Landini's era there were no standard ways to build stringed instruments. Size, shape, number of strings, tuning, range, playing position, bowed vs plucked, skin front (like a banjo) vs wood front (like a fiddle) -- all of these elements were pretty much up in the air. Until someone finds a viele that has survived unaltered, our only instructions on how to build them are doodles in manuscript margins and the many musician gargoyles on European church walls.
Could you tell the name of the instruments please?🤓
Na jakich gracie instrumentach?
Mi chiedevo solo se fosse una viola da braccio oppure una lira da braccio, quella suonata nel video. Grazie per la risposta.
whats the name of the 5 stringed viola thatstarted playing in 0:25 . thank youu

hi arman - it's a vielle! in other words, a medieval fiddle. Niccolo and David are both playing vielles, but in different ways. (there was no standard!)
Amazing performance! What's the name of the drum? Thanks
@Alkemie

This is a frame drum made by master traditional percussionist and drum maker Glen Velez. It's constructed in order to play in many different traditions, but in my opinion it's pretty close to an Egyptian tar. The head is synthetic, but would traditionally have been goat skin
