I disagree. When a country is not capable of self governing properly, like for example Mexico, then its able neighbors should either block immigration from that country if it does not want to be invaded by an undesirable population, or take over and clean up the mess. Countries like Mexico can not have it both ways, sending millions of undesirables, and refusing to be colonized.

The issue was the scramble for and partition of Africa to get resources and raw materials for European industries. But before then, the whole of African continent were as one people one nation. But they splitted this continent, and impose the slogan of "Divide and rule" because they knew that if we not divide these people can't manage to control them. Before they fully invade in African continent, they sent Explorers and missionaries to make exploration in the continent to know which region has either oil, gold, ivory, timbers and other raw materials so on. They were people from Europe like Vasco Da Gama from Portugal, Dr. Livingstone, Carl Peters from Germany, von Weissman, von Liebert, von Götzen, von Reichenberg, Sir Richard Turnbull, Sir Donald Charles Cameron and many-more. We remember them very well through history because they were so cruel, they led in brutal way, our grandfathers were tortured and suffered a lot to liberate themselves from colonialism. They put these boundaries in order for easy management of the African peoples and their motherland through their governors. So the Germany and Britain take the southern part of the African, France and Belgium take the central and western part of African, and Italy take the north-eastern part in countries like Libya and Djibouti. The history is very long from slave trade to triangular slave trade that included three continents(Africa, south-America and Europe) across Atlantic ocean, in which most of grandfathers of our fathers died, and they were sent in crop-plantations of sugarcane in Brazil and other south-American countries. After industrial revolution they abolish the slave trade but did not abolish the exportation of our natural recourses and raw materials, they have been doing so through African leaders who are their puppets, and until the current generations, we African people are not benefitted with our resources. listen carefully of which madam Fatma, firstlady of Sierra Leon what she said, find it in KZread you will find it. but all in all, our history has been hidden for so long, and we have made to be unknown people in this world. The true history of our fighters against European countries has been hidden for so long, they destroyed our cultures for so long, our customs, they made our ancestors to be inferior. Thanks for this very well produced video. Bottom line, as always, comes down to money. Take away the natural resource (nickel) and France has zero interest in New Caledonia. A colony is a colony, although there are many different versions. New Caledonia is still colonized.

The colonial countries always find somebody else to scapegoat. They never take responsibility for their own actions. That are consistent on that 😅

The Kanaks deserve their independence. The land had belonged to them for thousands of years. Intermittently flaring up with violence will not help the Kanaks. They need a vision .... a strategy .... and a cohesive effort to achieve their goal. As the fight currently is not a fair fight, the United Nations can lend a helping hand too. They might also consider splitting up their island nation to have a Kanak homeland and a smaller European colony. Once again a well researched production.
