👉François Pompon, sculptor: a step into modernity
Everyone knows Pompon's bear on display at the Musée d'Orsay, and it's often thought that it's this subject that collectors are unanimous about.
Pompon controlled every piece that left his workshops, chiseling it himself and applying patinas when he didn't make certain pieces from scratch, in this case without a founder's stamp.
While the average price for a sculpture is between 15,000 and 30,000 euros, you need to look more closely at the subject matter and the materials - bronze, stone, plaster, porcelain - to decipher the estimate for each piece.
