I agree....i feel like people on KZread and all social media totally exaggerate because I have been collecting, wearing, layering perfumes of all brands and prices for many many years and i MIGHT get complimented 3 times a year...and its not like people dont smell/like it but they just have other things on their minds other than complimenting a persons fragrance....i very much agree with u about that!!! People truly do exaggerate about all these compliments they get 😂😂

I mean I get GIDDY when I’m complimented on my perfume “in the wild” because it happens so rarely. 😂 I don’t count the compliments my husband or kids give me lol! I appreciate them but they are in tune with noticing what I’m wearing. I had a compliment the other day when wearing Kilian’s Princess and I told the girl at the store she made my day, because I never get compliments.

Girl! Yes! I’ve been complimented on perfumes and even been chased after in a store “at home” store for a very popular one “Baccarat Rouge 540” the woman chased me down to ask me what I’m wearing. She took out her phone to make sure she got the right one. I’m like it’s pricey and then she said” I don’t care” .She literally bought it in front of me on the spot. Another one I get regular compliments on is Givenchy Hot Couture and always la vie est belle. Currently I’m on mercari selling some perfumes to get me a big bottle of baccarat rouge 540. It’s a masterpiece and definitely makes women and men go crazy for it! So glad to see you again girl! You rock! I can’t stop thinking about Baccarat Rouge 540!

Devotion by DG is my favorite citrus (lemon) and light floral scent right now. I would love that scent chat with Katie!

Coming in a couple of weeks! 😍 I sprayed Devotion today and was reminded how much I enjoy it. It pulls more orange blossom on me but the lemon gives it a special oomph.

You did well with GGGB. Great scent for summer. Sweet husband to pick up on maybe a new scent for you. I love any Frederic Malle fragrance!

I do remember May being really busy when the kids were in school! I had La Danza on my wishlist and I now own it.. I spoke about the story of my daughter and the dance of the dragonflies in my niche wishlist video. I’m so happy to now own it! I do get the apple and coconut and it’s light and airy to me ❤ I need to retest Lys Mediterranee, the notes I wrote on it were not favorable but that was way back when I first got into fragrance and my nose has changed a lot since then. I think I still have the dabber sample 😊

I get compliments almost every day I wear Guidance by Amouage!! And I do get lots of compliments on my other fragrances. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Can’t stop thinking about Animalique by Byredo. Leather but fresh! 😍

Yes I’d love to see your sample sniff with Katie! I should try to grab a Gritti discovery set or something.. I’ve never smelled anything by them! I did wear Idole Nectar in my California vlog video, I just went to check to see what I had said about it and I did not get the popcorn, I called it light and fresh and fruity but with almost an oud vibe 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ll retry it and see if I get citrus! Have you tried Trussardi Donna? The most gorgeous citrus in my opinion! 💛💛💛

I completely agree with you on the whole "gets tons of compliments" hype that KZreadrs are constantly claiming. I wholeheartedly think they are ridiculously over-exaggerating possibly because most of their audience are other influencers who need constant "complimenting" for whatever validation being sought after. You will be so glad you purchased La Danza! It is one my all time favorites in my collection. You have me convinced to get a sample of Lys Mediterranee! My purfume always on my mind is Dior's Dioriviera. May have to splurge, but reluctant at the $330 price tag. Thanks for your lovely video!

Oooh thank you! I cannot wait to have a bottle!! I’ve seen that Dior one cross my radar several times but need to finally get my nose on it. The price tags, I know. 😭 I don’t get my nails done or splurge on a lot of things, but perfume is truly my hobby. If I can have little samples to enjoy at the very least, I’m happy. Till I come across ones like La Danza and Lys and need the full bottles. 🤩

@@PerfumeonthePorch Yes! I have full bottles of both versions, and I think they are just slightly different in their strength, projection and longevity. I often layer them together. If you were going to get only one, get the OG because the bottle is way prettier!!

SOTD is Si Fiori and Nebras❤and I have bought Infini Rose twice and returned it both times but for some reason I am wanting it again?? I can’t figure out why 😆😆😆

I can’t stop thinking about Peach’s Revenge by Sarah Baker. It smells like a perfectly ripe, juicy, super realistic peach. I am obsessed! It’s out of stock now, but I’ll be buying it in the future for sure.

If you love lilies I highly recommend Dusita Fleur de Lalita. It’s a dream. Beautiful modern floral with the perfect sweetness in the base. If I were getting married again (which I am not lol celebrating 10 years in August!) this is what I would wear. 🌸

I never get compliments lol. I can’t stop thinking about A Kiss OF Bliss by Penhaligons, and I can’t stop thinking about what white florals I can sample!

I have never tried any Penhaligons and I need to remedy that! I ADORE white florals.

I almost pulled the trigger on La Danza Libellule. I think it will be so lovely for autumn., so that will be my next purchase lol. But instead I went with Gritti Tutu. Lol to me it’s an apple cinnamon, sort of milky coconut gourmand. It’s very delicious to my nose lol!

Oooh I have a sample of that Gritti one on the way!! I cannot wait to try it! Yes La Danza is delicious. I wore my sample a few days ago in the high heat, walking the park with a friend, and it performed very well in the heat.

Sotd is Dolce Amalfi Xerjoff. Perfumes on my mind : Acqua di Gioia, and Love Tuberose ❤

@@Lunarangst it isn’t in the way that “tropical” fragrances are, but it is definitely present (at least to me!) and gives it substance.

Wulong Cha is a great unisex citrus/tea spring/summer fragrance. You and your husband can both wear it.

I personally get compliments all the time on my fragrances 😍 but I work in a large environment with a lot of different ppl plus my coworkers know my obsession with perfume , so they let me know when I'm smelling extra .... my friends as well let me know what scents are beautiful .... Halley from Tizianna Terenzi takes the crown with 5 different ppl in one day ❣ House of Sillage fragrances always get compliments , almost weird not to lol , Bond , Kilian , Simone Andreoli , Sintra from Memo, (Cherry Ink from Lorenzo Pazzagila multiple compliments in a single day as well ) 💕💕💕

That is awesome!! It really could be environment - admittedly I’m not out “in the wild” as much as most people unless it’s at a park or something kid-oriented! I will say there are certain standout fragrances in my collection that do almost always pull compliments, date-night fragrances like Initio’s Atomic Rose (probably because it’s a beast performer!). My family compliments me often but because they’re attuned to my hobby and notice fragrance on me. But compliments from strangers are pretty rare for me, maybe 10 times or less a year.

Yes, I love it actually. 😂 Fragrance and art are so subjective, which is what makes it so fun for me. I’ve read GGGB is definitely polarizing! Some of the reviews on it are hilarious. It works really well with my chemistry though, so a love for me. 🥰

I’ve never smelled that one but they still may be similar - I think the reviews for GGGB are very across-the-board, but I think it’s one of their bestsellers so it must be good for a decent amount of people! I strongly dislike Love Don’t Be Shy on myself - it is way too animalic stanky on my skin 😂

I suspect that your milieu would greatly influence how often people might compliment your scent. Just a guess, but it seems to me that on a college campus, in sorority meet ups or in certain retail environments receiving these compliments is infinitely more likely than during suburban errands. Or on the streets of Paris. Parisians would never! Way too personal! 😆 That being said, my suburban postal worker just stopped dead in her tracks after handing me a package to ask my fragrance (BR 540 + Sol de Cheirosa perfume)

I think you’re absolutely right!! Oh what a combo!! 🤩 I will have to try that one when we get home from vacation. It is always SO nice when people are so taken aback by your fragrance in a positive way. Another mom at school pickup one day couldn’t focus on anything I was saying because she was so distracted by my perfume - Tocca Colette. It was a huge compliment and made my week. 💛 LOL about Parisians!! Are you Parisian? I would have assumed the opposite - that Parisians would lavish compliments over any small detail!

@@PerfumeonthePorch not Parisian but I lived there for a while. The stereotype is that Parisians (and broadly Europeans in general) don’t get personal with strangers, or even acquaintances, the way that Americans do. Painting with a broad brush here, but I’ve found this to be true as a rule. Edit: I’m German but live in the US since 2011
