Define reliable. The problem with all this is that people insert their faith (or lack thereof) into their "objectivity." Is it 100% totally accurate? Absolutely not. Is it 100% accurate is certain things? Yes. Is it accurate regarding the life and human death of jesus (probably) and resurrection (nope)? I think the real quedtion is what difference would it make

@@kumarg3598 I believe it makes all the difference in the world. To me, the Bible is absolutely true. Don’t get me wrong, for many years I had doubts regarding the validity of scripture. How could men write something and not rely on their own biases or opinions and not have their own agenda? Then I actually read the Bible, several times in fact. This lead me to more meaningful questions…like why would people of the NT die horrible deaths for a lie about Christ’s resurrection?…why do millions (maybe billions) of people around the world believe the Bible is completely true, many even risking their lives just to have only a few pages much less the whole thing?…why has this book survived for 6000 years?…why would Jesus, who is God and cannot lie, quote OT verses if they weren’t true? And I could go on, however, over the course of my researching and with the leading of the Holy Spirit, I completely believe the whole Bible to be true and the inerrant word of God. Unfortunately, the world today is viscerally opposed to the Bible and God. To be confronted with one’s shortcomings (sins) is a hard pill to swallow for many, myself included. I had to put aside my presuppositions, and stop parroting what people around me (and in the MSM) had to say about God and his word. I had to separate myself from the masses and really read and consume the whole Bible, not just the verses I could manipulate to fit my agenda or current feelings as many (including professing Christian’s) do these days. It takes faith to believe. I’m sure you will have objections to things I’ve said here. I don’t wish to argue about my beliefs, nor am I arguing that perhaps you’ve inserted your “faith or lack thereof” into your view point. I do, however, hope you’ll take a more objective, not subjective, look at God and His word. Maybe you’ll think a bit differently afterwards. Christians really must stand firm in defense of the Word. God bless the people who created this documentary. The forces of evil have been at work in the hearts of our children for too long, deliberately misleading them to usurp the place of God. There are no saviours in politics or business. We only need one Savior, Jesus Christ.

@@joedaley1878 CHRIST IS our CREATOR and everything else that has been created was created by CHRIST JESUS except the sin of man . Hebrews 1 : 8 thru 10 , we see THE FATHER addressing CHRIST as GOD and speaking of the fact that CHRIST laid the very foundations of the world but you proudly say in error that CHRIST isn't THE CREATOR . You shouldn't qoute scripture if you don't believe scripture , that's what Muslims do Joe.

Depends on what you mean by corrupted. The contradictions in the Gospels comes to mind. Yahweh used flawed man and there was a reason. He didn’t dictate word for word the text.

Beautiful. I think I would tear up if p52 was in front of me within touching distance. Powerful.

The problem with discounting the account of the woman caught in adultery is the profound message itself: "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". Who would have thought to say that? They are as profound as "render to Caesar that which is Caesar's". Further, Jesus first approaches her accusers by writing something in the dirt. We do not know what that was. But then the crowd was so affected by what was written that they dispersed, the oldest first, the youngest last. Again, who would have thought that up? To assume that this was "made up" presupposes that there was a conspiracy to add those words and by whom? A scribe? A scholar? For what reason? More than likely, John wrote his gospel first without those verses and copies were profusely distributed. Then, later, he amended it with the added verses. And copies of the amended version were distributed. There are not hundreds and thousands of copies from the first two centuries but about a dozen.

How did text survive from Greece? So it went from Greece to Rome to the Vatican?

Well spotted but I think it's just the reflection of lighting on glass. I've seen orbs in real life and they are almost always much smaller and dimmer than this and they are made of white light, not yellow tinted lighted.

nice but superficial overview how ever the implication that the variants, such as long ending of Mark, has no major doctrinal implications for the church, I think was dismissive, the fact is. that Jesus supposedly. states, they will speak in new tongues/ raise the dead etc, the miracles described as normative in the NT contrast to what we see now, as an institutional religion without any evidence of divine power, or evidence of answered prayer

Can you imagine being so delusional, so willfully ignorant? Being so self serving, arrogant and narcissistic? That you would deny the infallible, inerrant truth of, the Gospel of the Living God of all creation? Knowing what the judgement holds for you, for ALL ETERNITY, if you don't come to accept and believe in the One who created you. The One who gives to you, your very breath? Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection is two of the most verifiable events from antiquity. Yet billions of ppl will accept nothing less, than considering themselves to be their own private "god". Convincing themselves that, whatever they feel their afterlife should be like, is absolutely how it's going to play out for them. I can't believe this used to be, me. Praise the Lord God Almighty for saving a wretch like me

Amen, Praise the Lord ! Jesus saved me the instant I cried out, praying for Him to save me. Immediately I knew I was forgiven and changed, passing from death to everlasting life as a new creation in Christ. That was God on the cross paying the debt for my sin that He didn’t owe. The Bible has been changing in recent years. Words like ‘couch’, replacing the word ‘mat, or bed. The word covenant replaced by testament at the Eucharist interval of ‘the last supper’, among many others. Seems to be another manifestation of what has been coined as ‘The Mandela Effect’. Scary times

oh no... the english language changes and so does our understanding and connotations of words. very scary. terrifying, in fact. so much so that perhaps worth learning ancient greek and hebrew yourself to decipher the real text? 🤔 if you don't wan to do that, i'd recommend the NET Bible with all the translation notes

Psalm 2. Is Not about Jesus. It’s about Hashem and the Tanach. God wants all nations to join with him in Jerusalem to learn about his future vision for peace. He will change the world and heal the lives he has created. Just like Isaiah 2 and heal the land like in Isaiah 11. The Messiah is coming soon.

After please let this cup pass from me, let your will be done. to know you are saved you must believe the GOD raised him from the dead. When he taught the disciples to pray he said pray like this Our Father who is in Heaven so you pray to the Father in Jesus name. Many more NT scriptures that proclaim Hashem has God to whom Jesus prayed to.

Of course JESUS prayed to THE FATHER because JESUS HE lowered HIMSELF to take on flesh for our sake and in doing so HE didn't become an atheist . THE FATHER also prayed to JESUS , Hebrews 1 : 8 thru 12 and if you knew the scriptures you'd understand this but you're too busy cherry picking in order to mock CHRIST by denying HIS DEITY in rebellion against GOD which makes you an antiCHRIST. Psalms 2 is indeed about THE MESSIAH WHO IS CHRIST JESUS as well . Are you a jew or a Muslim because either way you contradict your own book.

They sure were good at setting up strawmen versions of what the scholars actually argue. This kind of misleading handwaving only preaches to the choir but doesn't really bridge any of the gaps between the different perspectives. Disappointed because Larry Hurtado was featured a bunch here, and he's an excellent scholar, but the makers of the documentary made poor use of him

There are hundreds of significant variants, more than the two they mentioned in this biased video! Luke 23:34,” father forgive them for they know not what they are doing”, Jesus sweating blood in Luke 22:43-44, and hundreds more. Read Metzgers “ textual commentary on the Greek New Testament“ where he goes over 2000 Variant Readings that his committee had to vote on before deciding which ones to put in the Greek New Testament used for modern Bible translations. these are significant variants that affect the meaning of the text, not the hundreds of thousands of spelling errors found among the extant manuscripts. This video wants to cram the NT manuscripts into their presupposed belief that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired “word of God “. A round peg in a square hole!
