I’m playing 2nd trumpet and as soon as I started playing this piece I immediately fell in love with it. My favorite part honestly is when the trumpets have the melody at measure 17. Powerful piece and one of my favorites.

I play the flute and my band teacher decided for the solo near the end that he made two solos me and my friend got a duet and another girl got the solo when I played this at my concert I almost cried while doing the duet/solo 🥲

Listening to this for the first time and definitely relating to it with going through my own depression. Never knew this existed until I looked at the conference band music folder I got for my conference band and definitely like this piece Edit: Now that I have played this piece in concert, it has become something that really resonates with me and something that makes me look over my life and realize how long I've been dealing with mental health issues. Thanks to this song, no, this project, I feel like I can become who I want to be, and actually overcome my creative block to write a song about my trip through mental health and depression. Thank you, Randall Standridge, for giving the world this piece to listen to and play.

This piece just makes you feel any emotion there is. Anger, frustration, depression, feeling lonely. It's so mind blowing how some notes and dynamics could just make u feel so much at once.

This is amazing! My school is playing this song this year and I have the solo at 61! I can’t wait to play it at our concert!!

Yeah I’ve been listening to it non stop and really exited that my band is playing it

It’s sounds like: Peacefulness, something coming in and blocking it and then rehabilitation and what’s left regaining

We played this music piece for our college concert, and it was so beautiful! When I played my last note on the flute, just hearing the echo of the percussion made me tremble from the strong emotions of the song; almost made me cry.

My band has played not alone and hearing the melodies transfer from that piece to this one is so incredible.

I'm from a 5th , 6th grade band and learning this piece was amazing. Coming from a flutist: thank, you for our solo, as a quiet instrument it's nice to hear us :)

Its so nice to see how much under classmen look up to eachother :), I'm in upper secondary school and alot of the lower secondary schoolers or as they say in America, middle schoolers, look up to us. I visited America and heard this peice, I can agree with you on how amazing and beautiful it sounds. Not quite as good as the band back here in Japan but I give it a 9.5/10.

i am obsessed with this song, our band teacher is having us read it for our competition in march, we sightread it first to see if we could get through it and that it wasn’t too difficult i remembering almost passing out but it sounded decent for middle schoolers sight reading but i loved it so much, we are working on it and it’s such a pleasure to play, i love randall standridges pieces sm

My band is playing this next month and I am SO EXCITED we just go the music last week and it gives me goosebumps cause we can already play it pretty well were just working out some minor details

We're playing this in my school band, and when we first showed it to other people, the impact was HUGE.

I played this in 8th grade band, and I had the chime scrape right before the violent section; as someone who has autism and anxiety, this piece represents my life. Such a beautiful and relatable piece!

The 9-10th grade Concert Band at UT Martin played this for the 44th Annual Honor Band festival. Great piece, loved it. This is coming from a trumpet. Our director, Standridge may know him, i'm not gonna say for privacy reasons, was amazing and very passionate about us playing this. Once again, amazing song.

For my early spring band concert I was in...I had the gong, Ride cymbal, Crash cymbal, AND Suspension Symbol. And let me tell you...Rushing to the gong halfway across the stage during Violent was the most stressful parts of this whole piece for me.

I play tuba and when I hit the jumbled saxophone part it sounds so good

We’re playing this for our concert this spring, and I really like this song. I play the bells😊

This song brought me to tears because of how it resonates with me as someone who suffers from depression and has attempted suicide. We're playing it later this year

I played this at LBA (Louisiana Bandmasters Association) for the summer of 2023 and i played piano for it. Randall Standridge was actually my guest conductor and this was my favorite songs we played. It was an honor meeting him and being able to preform some of his work.

My band teacher told me that the end sounds like if you don’t really know if it was a good ending or a bad ending

We played this piece last year in my Concert band, and it was one of my favorites of the year along with another ballad piece we did "O Waly Waly" Specifically about this, I loved the shaping of everything in this! And even though as a Low Brass member we usually get wholes and halves and quarters, I didn't mind it for this piece, as the shaping the dynamics made our parts interesting that way! Still tears me up months after I played it, remembering what it was like ❤‍🩹🫂🫂

Hey :) I was Clarinet 2 in LBA this past couple of days. Quite literally in love with this.

I played this song as a trombonist for my last concert I did 2 weeks ago, this piece was so fun to play and overall made me feel so heartfelt, This piece is so incredible you wouldnt begin to imagine!

I’m playing this song for my upcoming spring concert and I’m a clarinet playing clarinet 1 and I like the melody of this piece and the clarinet part is cool to play👍👍👍

We played this piece for an honor band I was at last weekend and it was very beautiful, and it gave me chills. I also got to read the program notes for it. I am a flute by the way.

We played this earlier tonight. This was my 2nd favorite of the 4 that we did.

I didn’t make it into my school’s higher level band because I had an anxiety attack during the audition. I was upset, I thought I wouldn’t be doing anything worthwhile in the lower band. The higher one went to competitions and conferences and seemed to be every composer and their mother’s favorite place to come do workshops with. My band was the one nobody remembered, nobody talked about, nobody even seemed to know existed if they weren’t in the program. But then my director gave us this song. It made me realize that we may not get all the praise and attention from the rest of the world, but we look out for one another. We care, and even if it won’t make headlines we can make a change. I hope someone in the audience of our concert later this month is as moved by this piece as I am.

And this really helped me start to grow, move on and be more confident. It's going well so far :) , It also helped me to accept how emotionally sensitive (in other words, *Fragile* ) I am. So now I'm slowly being able to show not-so-great feelings without being quite as embarrassed, I'm still working on that though. I could say so much, but nothing can truly explain how Important, Personal and Special Fragile is to me.

Easily one of the best pieces I have ever played! I played this in 7th grade band. The peice has not just one of the best sounds ever but a lot of meaning letting us all know we are not alone and there is always help out there to get. I remember the day my band director first conducted this and how wonderful it sounded. Thank you for composing this Randall!
