can i ask what is the difference between using track matte of below layer and using displacement map of an adjustment layer. since i think it's all the same or any specific case that we should use displacement map instead using track matte. Thanks

Displacement maps and track mattes are not the same things. A matte just tells the layer below where it can show up, and the displacement effect adds wobble. Since the displacement map effect is on an adjustment layer at the top, it affects both the Fractal Matte and the Fractal Reveal text layer (and any additional layer placed underneath it). The only other way to mimic the same result would be to copy the displacement map effect on both the Fractal Matte and the Fractal Reveal text layer. Hope that helps!

Hi, nice trick. But it does work just with black BG. i have a title and a lot of clouds moving, i would like to cover the title, when clouds are passing on it. i thought i can make a similar cloud formation with fractal noise, but i cannot cover the title, it just becomes black. so it´s not a proper mask

@@CGStirk i fixed it...with Lumakey and threshold... with the luma key i isolated some clouds from the original footage, and i used its as a matte, in order to cover the title as the clouds are passing by...

How do I change the color of text once I've added fractal noise to the text?

As long as the fractal noise is added to a matte layer and not the text itself, you just change the text color or fill in the text layer.

i got only fractal noice with a 16 at the left side and not with the second thing on it im confused
