Look how respectfull he is to the horse. Just letting him roll down and run around without trying to break up the process. Just GREAT! Natural and full of fun, the way it is ment to be.

I was worried when I saw Pignon was carrying whips. But then I saw how he never used them to hurt, but to merely guide by pressing them to the horse so lightly at certain times. And the fact that when the horse had an urge to run and dash, he did not care, but rejoiced in the horse and showed the audience what a horse is really made of. It was so easy to see how good of friends these two truly are and a pleasure to watch. May all people learn how to bond with their horses in this way. God Bless.

The first time I saw him playing with horses I cried. Because I loved nothing better than to go out in the fields and run and play with the horses, without demanding anything. Back then, at that time & place, I was considered to be very foolish. He showed me how beautiful it looks, and how much fun.

It is not often that you find someone so remarkable... from the heart remarkable... Magali Delgado and Frederic Pignon have something truly special and take their love of horses and their love to play in the heart of connection beyond any "training" that I have ever seen. Their new book comes out in English this month and I can't wait! When you learn how to feel for the energy of the horse, you will feel what I have felt and know that their connection is truly based in mutual respect and love.

I would say Maggie, that you need to be very careful with what teaching you listen to, as "natural Horsemanship" can be anything but natural, in fact quite awful - and quite ok. None of it is really natural, as it is anything by natural for a horse to be ridden, or managed by humans. It is down to how respectful of the horse the person you listen to is: it all depends on the person teaching, and what they teach. Personally, I do quite favor Buck Brannahan, and would shun, unfortunately, the Parellis, due to the teachings discovered by the latter that were all but nice or loving. Also be very careful with all roundpen work. I can also very much recomment Mark Rashid, and his absolutely wonderful books on horses. The book Gallop to Freedom is wonderful, and written by Pignon himself, and there is also a wonderful book written by Bill Dorrance, that has lots and lots of wonderful teachings, all in harmony with the horse, and the nature of the horse. Good luck.
