Great review! Thank you. The ink is very nice. But that nib looks terrific - I really love the line variation you were able to get it. It’s the first pen that has tempted me in ages. I splurged on a Namiki Falcon for sketching several years ago. Big mistake - the nib is so fine that it slices the paper if you flex it. But your FPR looks like it would be great for sketching.

I have the FPR Jaipur V2 in brown/dark teal ebonite and I love it. I bought it recently at a buy one-get one free sale at the FPR site. The ebonite feed is wetter than the plastic feed that comes with the acrylic styles - I think you can opt for the ebonite feed for non-ebonite pens but you would have to ask for it. Interestingly, FPR sells an “anti-railroading” additive that can be added (in very small amounts) to ink that is too thin and is intended to reduce railroading when flexing. So far I have not needed this additive for the ink I am using (De Atramentis Document Brown), but it’s nice to know it is available. The nib writes effortlessly smoothly and starts immediately with no skipping.

Super new to FPs, wondering if it's normal to have that much grease on all the components! Don't see it on TWSBIs or the Duke I bought

Some fountain pens will use grease to provide a better seal to prevent ink from coming out.

Thanks again. I'm currently playing with switching out coloured inks within one drawing, and can't seem to find a fude nib for any dip pens: have you run across any? I've just ordered some Titanium Zebra G's as close proximity, but using those on cold press may well bring some scratchy grief.

Fude nibs are not dip nibs because it's not designed to hold ink. Dip nibs are designed/shaped to hold ink. There is one fude nib that can be used as a dip nib though. The Duke 551 pen www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-2-duke-551-aka-confucius-compound-art-fountain-pen

My Duke 551 as it happens will arrive today. But I also purchased both brass and stainless steel Kakimori bullet dip pen nibs and they are fude on steroids, but the single ink dip lasts and lasts! Game changers. I also have the Sailor Hocoro dip fudes being delivered later this week to me. Coloured inks are both mood influencers and fun.

FPR imports nibs and pens from an Indian company Kawrite. The pens/nibs are rebranded as FPR.

@@LEDewey_MD Yes. Sorry about the wrong spelling. Kanwrite used to also make Noodlers Ahab and another model by Noodlers. The Ahab is not available from Kanwrite anymore for some reason.

I think they(fpr) import from Click (another indian nib/pen maker) , not from Kanwrite.... Though noodlers does source from Kanwrite, that is pretty much confirmed.

any chance you`ll try the latest huion RTP series? there is a new pen

Hi Teoh, I was just looking at FPR's website last week. Couldn't decide which to buy or whether to buy one at all. I believe that they call this nib the "ultra flex" nib and the EF means "extra fine" (feel free to correct me if I am wrong). It is the EF part that interests me. I already have the Pilot 823FA and 912FA. I was wondering how the EF line quality of the FPR flex pens compares to that of the Pilot FA nibs (i.e., when not flexed).

If you already have the Falcon nibs, there's no much reason to get the EF nibs. They should be similar. Instead consider the ultra flex which has thinner lines if you're into thinner lines.
